    Low fuel warning light

Mine failed. Does not work at all. I ran my tank bone dry last week and it never came on. I'm gonna call the dealer as my bike is still under warranty. If you use yours, I should say depend on yours, keep an eye on the odo as the warning light can let you down. I did a test to see how many miles I could go on a tank doing my normal pace, commuting, etc....and I got 172 miles before she went to fumes. Also as part of this test, I called AAA and from the time I called till the guy was there with gas was 15 minutes! I was shocked and amazed!

Now there are 4 "Cylinders" on my ride, inline of course!

AAA actually responded even though you were on the bike? Did you tell them that or just let them believe you were in your car?

I'm probably wrong, but I thought AAA doesn't cover motorcycles? (Not that it should make any difference if you just need a gallon of gas.)

    Record response time though!!

    Yikes.... what a rip!

You should join the AMA (ama-cycle.org) and for $25 extra sign up for their roadside assistance program. Your entire cost will be way less than $100.

California AAA charges, I think, $35 extra for the motorcycle coverage.

I have the Gold Plus Plan. Cost me something like a 100 bucks for 3 years. Yes they knew I had a bike as they ask for the make and model when you call in. Gas is covered on my plan so there was no extra charge. If you do alot of miles and want TRUE nationwide coverage, then the AAA is way better than any of the others I have researched. The BMW roadside assistance is a freaking joke, thats why it is included when you buy a new BMW cause it isn't worth shit!

I never had to use my "free" BMW roadside plan, which is now expired, but my buddy did when his K12LT shit the bed. The response time was reasonable, and at least they sent a flatbed and the driver had nylon tie-downs.

I've seen a bike being towed with a regular tow truck in one of those "slings" -- what a joke that is. The bike (a cruiser) was swinging all over the place, banging into the back of the truck.... bits of plastic and who knows what else flying here and there! If the bike wasn't totaled when it was picked up, it was when it was dropped off! Don't ever trust your bike to one of these things.
