Hey guys, when I pull away on my bike (it has a power valve) I have to leave the clutch at the biting point until i'm almost about to change into second for maximum acceleration, is this normal?
Cheers,
James.

Thats for a realy fast start, your slipping the clutch dont do it to often, its hard to learn on an rs how to pull away just takes time:x
Well I can pull away fine but i prefer it to haul ass as where i live there is usually a boy racer in some banged up fiesta crawling up my arse![]()
James.
I could undersand a gti but its not worth 55 quid for a new clutch for a twat in a fiesta!!!
thats true but it does bring a smile on my faace to see him 15 metres back as i get across the traffic lights lol
Cheers anyway
James.

james do ya not find that the back wheel also spins when ya set off like that , it does on the wifes, and yes the clutch is just about out as ya nip it for 2nd.
>>I could undersand a gti but its not worth 55 quid for a new clutch for a twat in a fiesta!!! '87 model AF1 (slipping the clutch in top rather than changing down for km at a time with a pillion, as otherwise it either bogged down, or you dropped a gear and revved the nuts off it) and it survived fine
All the best
Keith
Keith what are you chatting about?
yeah it does sometimes spin with a satifying screetch aswell![]()
especially in the wet.
James
Hi
Think the board decided to chop alot of that message out
What I said was £55 was worthwhile for thrashing a load of GTIs and Fiestas.
Used to REALLY abuse the clutch on my old AF1. Run along in top gear slipping the clutch with a pillion to keep it in the power (otherwise you dropped it a gear and revved the engine hard, or kept in top and kept dropping out of the power). The clutch took months of 2 up abuse on the way to work doing this
All the best
Keith
