    Tuning a rs125

Im looking to get a rs125, heard it is the same engine as a 125 rotax max gokart, i work at a kart track e.t.c and was wondering if it would be safe to strip it down and have the engine sent off to the tuners??

    ah ha

when u say safe, what do u mean. I guess that those go-karts are heavily tuned correct me if im wrong but the thing with tuning that u need expensive engine rebuild very often and for road use it is inconvinient although much more fun to be had from a tuned engine.

    Karts

    Hi

The top end of the engine is similar to the Rotax Max engine. However as the Rotax Max engine does not use a gearbox it is going to need a far wider spread of power. I suspect it will be in a fairly low state of tune.

By the way, Rotax also sold the 122 engine for kart racing in some countries, but it wasnt homologated for use in the UK

    All the best
