First change after 600 mile service...
Was Wondering if there is a particular oil/synthetic to allow engine to continue to "seat" properly?
A regular mineral based oil or is a synthetic at this stage of the game ok...???
Gracias

Semisynthetic only!!!Full synthetic will cause your clutch to slip I belive
Not a problem?
AF1 shows the semi-synthetic Motul 5100 as one of their top sellers. In my case, I've been using Silkolene as I had a hard time finding Motul locally. I used a semi-synthetic the first time and then switched to the full synthetic 15W50 and haven't had any clutch issues.
Silkolene Semi-synthetic 10-40

same here..........no clutch problems after 5k Miles on it.
i have been us Mobil 1 15-50 for years! Just got rid of my GSXR-1000 that was pushing 170hp to the rear wheel. Had 15,000 miles.. never a slipping clutch!
have used this in MANY other wet clutch bikes too. NO problems at all! It does not have the star bust emblem on the bottle meaning it does not have too many friction modifiers. That is what can screw up a clutch! The 10w-30 does have the star burst. My Factory gets soooo stinking hot that 15-50 is all I'd run anyways!
Better to have leaned and low sided than never have leaned at all
too much wine with dinner...........missed the semi part ofsythentic. I run full synth and have had no clutch problems in my RSV or my race bikeOriginally posted by bilter

I've been using Motul 5100 15-50 up to 12000 miles.
dealer put some Golden spectro 10-40 at valve adjust and I have a problem shifting from 2nd to 3rd.
I drained that and put in 20-50 Amsoil motorcycle synthetic since that was available late friday at an autoparts store. Feels alot better(smoother shifting, finding neutral) but still problem.
I am going to try mobil 15-50 red cap synthetic until my
ELF oil 10-50 synthetic comes in.
Did anyone see the deal at Laguna buy one get one free at the ELF tent? Good til september?
I am getting a couple cases.![]()
From now on Full synthetic
Interesting!
why not a motul or silkolene?
