Momentary power cut then surge at 8k RPM

My 2016 RSV4 seems to run fine and I wouldnít think there is anything wrong with it. Except there seems to be a momentary power cut off at 8k RPM, then power surges again right after that. Only noticed it because was testing another 2016 RSV4 at the track and this bike didnít have it. This bike power delivery was linear through to redline with no hint of cutoff. Both bikes are stock and under 3000 miles. Why would my bike have this slight power dip?

Is your exhaust valve cables and servo motor demounted so the exhaust valve is held open only by the spring??

I noticed similar, but very slight, symptoms on my older, 2013, V4Factory.
I suspected it had something to do with secondary injectors but can not say for sure.

Hard to tell... are both bikes running identical ECU maps and all the same APRC settings?

If so I would take to the dealer and see if they want to reflash the ECU if there aren't any other glaring problems.

No. Exhaust valve and cables still intact. Bikes are still completely stock.

Both has stock ECU and all the APRC settings are the same. If I didn’t have access to another 2016 RSV4 to compare, I’d just think it was normal. As the bike still has plenty of power right after the momentary cut. It’s almost like V-tec kicked in.

How can you verify if the secondary Injector is defective or not working?

If motor pulls past 10k rpm then upper injectors are indeed working, whether or not they are clean and working perfectly is hard to know without dyno test. 6-8k rpm depending on load is range where injection shifts from all subthrottle (lower) injectors to all upper (shower) injectors.

My 2017 rsv4 RF did the same thing around 7,000 I did OTF install and it seem to fix the problem basically it's like flashing your ECU and reprogramming it

i had similar thing at 8k rpm absolutely each time, it was the lower injectors, I changed to my friend's injector and it disappeared.

Flash has noting to do with that, better: it's a secondary problem/solution.

stock and race OEM flash for 15-16 bikes has the cleanest injector swap logic compared to all years RSV4 production... those hicups at 7/8000 rpm are probably due to dirty injectors.

Before you spend any money, turn your traction control right down, maybe to 1 or off. On a test ride I once took the bike did exactly that, cut power momentarily, before taking off like a scalded cat. Try the bike out on a quiet road, tho'. And be prepared for any unexpected wheelies etc.

Yep, 8k is wheelieville, turn off wheelie control (AWC) & see if it still happens.
