    2002 MV Agusta 750S cutting out

    Ok gentlemen, I have seen great advice being given and received great advice here for my Aprilia, so, I'll try for my wifes MV.
    It developed an issue, you'd be riding along, at about 6000rpm it'd cut out. Rev counter needle just dies, back to zero. The temp guage and speedo keep working. After it drops around 1000rpm or so, it'll cut back in, maybe it'll rev higher, then do it again, maybe it'll do it again at 6000. Sometimes it's 10,000, sometimes 9000, sometimes 12,000.
    I have bypassed the side stand switch, no change, on this run, it blew the 15A fuse to the coils/fuel injection system/fuel pump. I found an injector with a damaged conection, so I've ordered a new one. I found it when I removed the Power Commander, I haven't been able to test ride it since removing the Power Commander due to the injector, the terminals were broken off the injector body. I tested the CKPS in another bike, it is ok. I have given the loom the "shake" test, you know, grab it section by section and shake it, see if there are any loose connections, I did this while holding the bike at 600rpm, no issues. Fuel lines installed correctly, no kinks. Fuel tank breathers are clear. New fresh fuel. Pump primes, all fuel lines in the tank look good, pump pick up filter looks clean. I think the fact the rev counter is dropping like a stone makes it electrical. I hate electrical faults!!
    I am getting frustrated fellas, any ideas?

    It's the safety interlock system or a bad connection......

    Check the cleanliness of all connectors, add dielectric grease and retighten

    One 15A fuse handles the coils and the fuel pump? That complicates things a bit.

    It may very well have been the faulty injector, but only testing it will make sure.

    Don't be surprised if it ends up being a short in the loom, even in the wire bundle that is wrapped. Wierd stuff happens after 15 years to wire insulation.
