    Bimota HB1

What a beauty! One of the very earliest Bimotas, powered by a SOHC Honda 750 motor, at the 2017 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

Almost every Bimota after, looks like a turd. I sure love those early ones though...

    Vision Hazard

"Whaddya mean my baby is ugly?"

The Mantra changed Bimota forever, and not for better. It looked like Super Chicken's ride!

Back on track, hoping no one suffered permanent loss of sight.

What year? I wonder, if Bimota returned to their roots and supplied kits again, would they sell? Old school is cool at the moment... And lots of old Hondas are being pulled out of sheds.

Great question! Apparently this all started when Massimo Tamburini hurt himself by crashing his CB-750 streetbike at a Misano trackday in late 1972. It led him to design and build a new chassis for this motor and which was made available to customers as a kit. About ten or so kits were made in the mid-70s. Today a replica is being made. Super nice, but should it wear the Bimota badge?
