    questions on reinstalling clutch cover.

Hey guys, just a couple quick questions. According to the Aprilia manual there are different torque values for the clutch cover. The torque number are 8.1ft lb for the M6 bolt and 14ft lb for the M8 bolts. Normally the same torque values are used for uniform compression of the gasket...not that there is much compression with the factory gasket...it is pretty thin. For all you guys that have had there’s off, are those the numbers you used. Also any particular sequence used for the clutch cover. Thanks guys! Just trying to fix this coolant weep hole leak situation!

The manuals values are correct. No specific sequence other than tighten them evenly. Two or three stages helps with that.

thanks KZ...for some reason I didn't get any notification of your response. I went in to put the clutch cover back on and noticed my oil pump gear was missing a bunch of teeth....so I had to tear out the clutch basket and all as well as the oil pump to replace the gear. A little strange. Hoping it all turns out ok! \

I really hope it isn't meth! haha As far as the teeth go if I had to guess I would guess the oil pump ate them up. it is a fairly soft plastic gear and it runs off another plastic gear mounted on the back of the clutch basket. I looked everywhere I could too find even the slightest trace of plastic, but found nothing. I ended up removing the oil tank and I could not believe the amount of sediment and sludge in the bottom. If you haven't ever cleaned out your oil tank maybe consider it next oil change. I was surprised by what I found in the tank...but the plastic teeth were nowhere to be found.
