Now I know what I want for Christmas...

This weekend I told my riding buddy that my Futura sounded like a sewing machine, so today I made the mistake of checking out what others have done to rectify that, and wow - some of the results sound really cool (at least for short periods of time - I'm not sure how I'd feel about it after a few hours on the road).

I have no immediate plans to do anything about this, and based on what I've read Futura H-pipes are aren't readily available, but one can always dream.

Ron, were you able to retain the existing luggage support point as is?

Or did that have to be modified or even eliminated altogether?

    Thanks

That's the best combination, as far as I discovered. Have now H-pipe, but still looking for mufflers to buy (just like your set up)...
The most funny thing is that I never heard how it sounds in real life))).
But videos gave me some understanding to decide.

Now you guys are rubbing it in!

Given how hard it appears to be to get your hands on the H-pipe (and perhaps a bit less so on cans that will match all the appropriate support points) it appears like I'll have to settle for the existing sewing-machine sound for a while...

You could always gut the rear silencer in the meantime, that back box is a very effective sound killer.
