    Motoamerica Twins class

Mildly interesting news from Motoamerica, a Twins class:
    http://www.motoamericaregistration.c...rovisional.pdf

Over 600cc up to 850cc. What bikes will race? Ducati 848 is the obvious choice unless Iím missing something? Thatís if youíre dying to race a Ducati. Tricked out FZ07? Dorso? SV??

Sounds fun, but I'm not sure it will pack the stands.

Kawasaki also has a 650 twin. Pretty on-par with the SV-650.

Maybe bLU cRU can homologate a race kit for the FZ07? They can get a special hearing with management.

Glad to see the change did not really care for the combo races. Hopefully will get more riders on the track. As far as packing the stands people need to get out, road trip or whatever it takes to support the races. I get sick and fucking tired of hearing excuses as to not supporting cycle racing. We're a dying breed from what I see.

You got that right, THUNDR, a dying breed! If you've ever been to an American Flat Track race recently it seems like the ambulances are there mainly for the fans. Where's the AED?

KTMs 790 Motard would be fun to race, but how competitive would it be against the Ducatis, still it would be a great asset to a starting grid.
It used to be "Rock around the clock" now its "limp around the block".................................In the shed...... Multistrada 1200, Termi full system with matching ECU, and ohlins SCU. KTM 640 supermotard, with full titanium system and a shit load of spares. (track bike) and a Bran spanking new 1290 GT. Torque monster.

Over 750cc adds 10kg (22 lbs) to the bike. I wonder if Yamaha will nudge the FZedSeven up closer to the lightweight displacement limit? My guess is the bLU cRU have something coming!

An Aprilia 750 Shiver or Dorsoduro is 749.9cc, and there are bargains to be had.

Shiver/Dorso 750 engines are very heavy lumps of metal, not competitive and the chassis sucks.

This new Twins Class looks to me like Ducati's marketing dept is sending some much needed cash Moto America's way. They probably have too many unsold 848s sitting in a warehouse.

Ducati's marketing dept is so good that they've convinced all the Ducati loyalists into paying extra and standing in line for last year's discontinued model, the "Final Edition" Panigale.

Plenty of race FZ07's in Texas. Some company in California sells a "race kit" with body work and some other changes.
We even have a couple of FZ07 motors jammed into an R6 frame.

They say that everything must be 'as Homologated', but no rules for Homologation are stated. if they must be homologated against some OEM spec, then it does look like the Ducatis have a significant edge (for now anyway).

Those FZ7's are tasty, maybe Yamaha is about to debut a new FZ8. Still, an 848 wins by a lot.

How about a grid full of these.
