Smile New Falco owner this weekend

Hi all. I've always like the styling so have bitten the bullet & collect her this coming weekend. 2004 black & red with less than 8000 mls. Seems that most of the posts are when folk have problems so I'm a little wary of what I'll discover. Hopefully things will be rosy & I'll have a rich & fulfilling voyage of discovery tinkering only when the fancy takes me & not because I've bought a problem child. I am a little excited though!!!!

Few people post that they had no problems. What's to say?
8,000 miles is not much. Enjoy.

Enjoy young sir. It seems like all the new owners of the Falco are from the Uk ? I bought mine the past summer and I only managed to put 600 mls so far. I know, pathetic... But that is because I own another motorbike . Anyways, you will love it. Now onto the next step, MODS !

Wafo, Mr. Hinckley. The only mod the bird really needs is petrol, oil, and some air in the buns.

    Enjoy our well-kept secret!

So, collected her & discovered on the ride back that motorways in near freezing temperature ain't no fun!! I'll have to sort the suspenders and the levers for fit and..... that's it. Weathers been crap although maybe this weekend it may improve. Brought a shelter just prior & that's not waterproof... BOO! Bunged it on the Optimate so she's ready to go. I just need to get out & suss her out. First impressions are reasonable though & at least one tin can passenger gave her a good looking at as I pootled home behind the daughter sticking religiously to the limits. Hinckley is where Triumph are now made & I was considering a 955 daytona but came to my senses. Bring on a break in the weather so I can start the fun, & get a snap or two to post.

Managed a quick ride in this crappy winter as the roads were dry. She's very fast thank you very much. Mind you I've never had more than 85 horses beneath me before!! Prior to the ride I bled the clutch as the fluid was black & I need to learn this stuff. Tried the reverse bleed thing where you push the fluid with a syringe from the slave up to the cylinder & suck it out from there. I did what this forum told me & golly jeepers its a lot easier than I thought it would be,membership is already paying off. Forecast for this weekend is rubbish & it's snowing now so no riding for me.

Sorry about your sorry weather. The blackened clutch fluid will continue to haunt you until you remove the slave cylinder, pull the piston from the cylinder, and coat it with silicone grease/paste/etc. Your troubles will then be over.

Fortunately, the distasteful color does not affect the clutch's performance.

You can always go this route, too. http://www.af1racing.com/store/Scrip...eservoir+Booty
