    Rear Brake light switch

My tail light is not lighting up when I press the rear brake pedal. The front brake lights up the tail light just fine so I'm guessing the rear switch or a loose connection.

    Brake switch looks like this:

Anybody know where the white connector is located?

I tried to follow the wire but have not yet found the connector.

I have never had to play with one jeff but by the length of the wire I think it would be up around the passenger seat, there are the tail light plugs on the right side. If not, leftside under the rider seat.

Have you unplugged and shorted it out yet to test?

On the Gen 1 it's behind the panel right below the rider's seat so I would imagine it's the same on the Gen 2. There wire isn't long enough for it to be far, in any case.

I have a switch that I removed from my bike (I went to AP rearsets, which use a pressure switch instead). If you work out that the switch itself is the problem, you're welcome to have mine. The caveat is that I snipped the wires fairly close to the switch to install the new pressure switch, so I only have the switch itself and an inch or so of wire. Nonetheless, it is yours for the price of shipping if it would be useful to you -- PM me if you'd like it.

Problem was the switch, replaced and all is well.

The switch wire's plug connection is on the right side of the bike under a plastic boot just above the clutch case cover.

    bump.

2017 rr model with aftermarket gp shift rearsets.
i’ve had so many problems making this rearset work, and rear brake light switch is one of them.
it doesnt mount to anything and is a 3 wire switch.

can a simple 2 wire brake pressure switch be fitted for rear brake light function? or what is the 3rd wite for?
