2006 tuono stolen today wallasey merseyside

Left it for 10 minutes in a busy town centre.Right next to a pedestrian crossing in a little area where all the bikes are allowed to park, just off the road.Been parking there for years.CCTV everywhere.Probably been loaded into a van.Sunset red ,DK06 LBO.Just spent time and money on it.Sickening.

Yes that was me!I just had facebook reports the bike was being razzed around Birkenhead. My daughter drove me over there and we actually were overtaken by my own stolen bike! Incredible.Rang 999 and said I was chasing my own stolen bike.(Reported to police only 6 hours earlier.)Was told they would deploy patrol cars to the area....we never saw one.Obviously could not keep up with the bike, which had no rear number plate light showing. So we returned home ,knowing my lovely Tuono was being abused by some person who I can not describe, but would cheerfully attack with a flamethrower.

Despite phoning the police twice to say my stolen bike was being thrashed around Birkenhead town centre we never saw one police car.

    No news yet...

I am amazed it was started so quickly.I always thought the immobiliser would do its job-no key, no start.Dread to think what they have done to the ignition and the petrol cap lock.It was seen literally dozens of times in Birkenhead from about 4pm.I saw it about 10.30pm.Appeared to have no rear number plate. On phoning the police I was asked,"How do you know it is your bike?"I replied that Tuonos are very thin on the ground and especially sunset red ones with no baffles in the Quill exhausts and extra bright headlamps. One funny thing ,all the reports of sightings on facebook said how good the bike sounded!Well the police phoned earlier and said they were going to study the CCTV.It was right by the pedestrian crossing and traffic lights. At least 2 cameras there.Personally I am sickened by the theft.I retired 3 years ago and not in the best of health. You would not believe the scrimping and saving to keep my beloved bikes on the road.As for the Tuono...just renewed the left handlebar switches, changed the oil and filter, recently fitted new chain and sprockets, new head bearings and races, forkoil and seals and lastly new rear suspension dogbone and linkage.(I doubled up the linkplates and bought extra length high tensile bolts). All work done by me.So I am a little upset.Anyway,I am now going to jump on my Street Triple and ride to Birkenhead to try and spot my lost beauty. What will I do if I see it?Don't really know!

Sorry to hear Weaveman. My Tuono is the only bike I've ever owned that feels like it's my buddy. I spend a couple of hours every weekend keeping it in condition and I would be very pissed off if it was stolen. I hope you find it and I hope that the bastards who took it get what they deserve.

More sightings tonight....2 lads onboard wearing balaclavas riding it through the one way system against the traffic...right past where it was stolen, then heading back towards Birkenhead.I can see a pattern here,it will only be recovered if it is dumped or crashes. The police will not take any direct action if the bike is moving.

I just received a message on facebook with a few thumbnail pics of my stolen bike in the hands of the thieves.I was given a link to an instagram account run by the thieves on which they show off their stolen bikes. This person told me to apply for membership of this closed group and I would probably be accepted. They love to gloat. So I applied and was duly accepted a few hours later. On the first click I was greeted with a full page picture of the rear of my bike with number plate exposed. And a big smiley face! There was a wire hanging over the plate which I suppose had been ripped off the number plate light. There was a short video of the bike being revved mercilessly.I was actually more surprised at the other photos on the site.Various stolen bikes and scooters including what looked like a new MV Agusta 800 Dragster. Also a Honda CBR600 which still had the price tag hanging off the fairing...stolen from a local dealer who I know well.Other pics showed a range of bolt cutters of various sizes and an interesting little wire connector about 8 inches long with different connector plugs on each end.Sitting on most of the bikes was a range of track suited chavs giving the proverbial finger to the camera.Obviously with covered faces.Judging by their body size I would say they were 16 or 17.So that is what we are up against!
