    Original Jota Soundtrack

This appears to be an early first version Slater Jota with the 180-degree crankshaft. Gold was a rare color option for those Slater bikes...what a beauty, what a soundtrack! It sounds like something out of the movie Bullitt.

The 120 sounds more classically triple, of course. The 180 is really distinctive, a blaring howl. How did guys stay out of jail riding something that sounded like that?

I had one of those gold ones, bought it new in 1978. Next year they were orange, which looked better to me.
When my friends got married they requested that I bought the Jota to the church (the brides mother was shouting "don't get oil on your dress").

I recently heard one again in Buntingford, and it was surprisingly mellow, especially compared to the classic Harleys that were there.

Now a Laverda Montjuic - that was loud.
