I remember a thread on here a while back where some guys expressed that they don't like "pro" racers coming out and cleaning up club race weekends. I'm a guy that got lapped, but personally I like it. I like to see what's possible on the same day and on the same track as me.

When I started racing Ron Haslam, Charlie Williams and a few of the other top riders used to occasionally come and race at my local circuit for a bit of extra seat time, they always pulled in to the pits at the end of the last lap before taking the flag.

He's been retired from Pro racing for a few years, he's 46 yo now.
David Anthony and Benny Solis are both active Moto America pros to name a few racing last weekend against Steve.

Most fast guys stay fast even when they get old, they just lose that edge that's needed to win at the top level.

I just do track days but it doesn't bother me either. I feel safer with fast experienced guys; they hold consistent lines, make good passes, etc.

Plus, a lot of them are really approachable, and you can learn all kinds of things from them. "Cherry picking" club race wins is kinda shitty, but as has been noted, a lot of them never take the flag. That's classy.
    I find tinsel very distracting.

Is this the same Steve Rapp that several years ago at Road America hit his front brake lever on the tail of a bike slowing for turn one? The crash sent hid bike cartwheeling and ripping the front end completely off his Duc. Since it happened within a half mile of the start the riders were regridded and restarted. Rapp's response was to get his spare bike out and continue racing! A true professional. My response would have been to hose the crap out of my leathers and call it a day.
