    sheared Crankshaft

    Hi all,

had a bad vibration yesterday whilst riding my SR 50 then no drive at all I took it as it must be the belt that's gone.
Took off the Transmission cover today to find that the Crankshaft has sheared off : (
Is this a complicated job to carry out and replace, I have manged to find a replacement on Crankshaft Ebay.
Carpenter by trade but do feel quite confident stripping and rebuilding engine parts and have done so in the past to a : )
Also what in your opinions would cause this to happen in the first place.

    many thanks, Andy

it looks like bad luck / i see the metal is flawed a bit. perhaps just that or maybe it was over torqued alot too.

    ---

crankshaft are about 100 dollars for a motoforce crank. the topperf are nice too but they are atleast 150 dollars.

crank bearings and seals maybe 50 dollars.

    try racingplanet for free shipping.

    ---
i would get the airsal sport 70cc cylinder kit that uses the stock head. it will complete your scoot the way the factory intended. your machine needs nothing else.

    ---
a marine shop or atv shop could have it rebuilt or send it up here for premium scoot tuning.
