    A short lived Joy!!

Took my Capo to get an MOT yesterday, its been off the road since May as i have been soo busy ive not had time to ride at all
It was a REAL pleasure to ride!
Such a fantastic bike, handles so well, i was carving up the road over the mountains, leaning her right over and the needle pointing at 2pm on occasions.
That joy didnt last long though as i got to the Bike shop (bout 20 or so miles over the hills) and there was oil dripping all over the floor..
The rear tyre was covered OMG i nearly shit myself tidy!

They refused to test as it was beyond dangerous..

I then had to ride back with the cooler getting worse as i went..
I wedged a big rag under the cooler but after 5 miles that was absolutely full and dripping too, burning off on the exhaust and coating the rear tyre.
That was one of the worse rides ive had.. i rode in the middle where all the crap gets accumulated so it would adhere to the oil a bit (and not soil the cleaner road)
    BUMMER!!
    Short lived Capo joy

Now to find a replacement cooler...

Anyone know of anyone breaking a Capo? i'm not in a position to spend out 300 quid on a new one at the moment

    Cheers
    MW

Those large external oil hoses are subject to failure due to age and useage. My lower one failed on my last trip, pissing oil past the hose clamp on the end attached to the cooler. Oil was everywhere, making it impossible to pinpoint the leak until I cleaned the cooler and hose. It may be useful to clean off the mess, then run the engine while watching the hoses, or maybe ride a few miles, then have a look.

Hi haga : ) Yeah that's a bit pricey for the clocks.. that's very kind of you, i'm hoping to sort this relatively quickly as i want to get in some well deserved riding time before winter.
I've looked at the coolers for other models and recon the Falco may just do it.. minus the central mount and rerouteing the return hose (will need to check if that's possible)
Otherwise theres a few s/h ones in the States
Being in the arse end of nowhere there are limited facilities around, but i have considered the recore route if theres no quick fix

Yes oil is streaming out from one of the cores, and it looks like its coming from one place.. would be great of it was just a hose but i'm thinking it prob isn't.
Hopefully it'll stop raining and i can whip it off and clean it up

He thinks he will make more that way but can't see it working with his prices . Clocks 430 wheels 600 ecu 390 are what he asked from me There are some bits that sell fast but you end up with the big bit for a long time like the motor and frame and swingarm the last bloke that broke a capo on eBay sold the best bits on hear then stuck the rest on eBay all starting at 5 when I went to pick my bits up he said he made 1200

Yeah i asked myself the same question.. it seems crazy to break a nice capo in gunmetal grey with only 21k on the clock. I wish mine was gunmetal grey, i've thought about plastidipping the panels & tank..
I contacted him regarding an Oil Cooler and he listed it for 75 quid + 5.50 P&P (inc the pipes) the most he would go down was a fiver, It looked in excellent condition, so i flowed with that. Hopefully should be with me Thurs/Fri and then back to Capo Joy!!
