    Can someone offer advice on up-jetting please?

    2001 Aprilia Scarabeo 50 / Minerelli Eng. / Dellorto Carb.

    Installed:

    Tecnigas Trek pipe
    Airsal 046 / 65cc bore kit

    The Dellorto carb has a "7.0" main jet and i understand that you typically go up 10% when adding a sport pipe. But since i have added a sport pipe and 65cc bore kit, I'm wondering if i need to go larger on the jet. Also, my jet kit jets are in increments of 5, so 7.5,8.0,8.5... etc...

    Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

    what diameter is the carb? is it the phva 17.5?

    is it a stock carb with a stock airbox. stock rollers and contra spring. stock clutch and springs?

    stock airbox
    will change out rollers to compensate for the 1500 contra and clutch springs.

    thats the problem then. its too small. correct sise is 15mm and up.

    we have a guy here working on tuning a sub-100 dollar FULL setup. join him if you want or get the big bucks malossi carb and filter and intake. not fun at all.

    what do you want to do? your carb is half the cfm it needs to be. it will not run long before your on the side of the road with the 12mm

    Ok... thanks.... BTW... what are the torque specs for the exhaust? Do you happen to know?

    Also, do you recommend a carb upgrade for this setup?

    12ft/lbs for m6 bolts i think but you can double check.

    our member JIXAW is working on a dellorto/dakar sha 15mm. he paid like 80usd for the carb/adapter and tunR airfilter. its a simple carb for a reasonable price. it fits great but he could use a partner to help dial it in twice as fast.

    otherwise the phva or phbg could work. thats like a 200 dollar setup. and its custom. not really a bolt on thing. more like a major project.....

    i like jixaws setup.

    BTW... this Airsal Kit instructions say that this cylinder runs perfectly with original carburetor....

    so you want to put the stock pipe on? does sound like a really easy way to fix it. that manual is handy lol

    i grabbed a Dakar SHA 15.15 like sublunacy recommended.....its so easy to tune and my mojito is really fast now....i'm mostly dialed in but am still fine tuning......if you need any advice, let me know.....

    Like everyone says you need to upgrade the carb. If this helps, I have a 2001 Scarabeo with a 70cc sport kit but with an aftermarket non expansion SP3 pipe.
    I put on the 17.5 Dellorto PHBN and Malossi Multivar variator . I use a 78 main jet (stock 50cc is 70) and the pilot that came in the carb (can't remember the size). I also use the white torque spring that came with the variator and stiffer clutch springs (blue I believe)
    I get 53 on flat with great pickup.
