    2017 Exhaust and Bike Notes

The Aprilia/akra slip-on with no cat went live today. They list a cat version too, but who cares, not yet available or orderable. Fits all 2017 RSV4 and Tuono only. Does not fit any other year.

None in the USA, but we now have some on order for ourselves.
I suggest ordering now, to get the queue forming, as demand will exceed supply.

RACE mapping is still several weeks off, maybe 4-8 weeks. But that code will work in the future for all 2017s

Full system is same as 2016 RSV4 RR/RF, and the unlock codes will work for all 2017s as well. All previous full systems will probably fit, but the unlock codes will not work unless it is part # 2S000556. I apologize, I gave someone on the phone bad info earlier about this.....I got confused with 16 Tuono full systems which are different.

Dealers are instructed to perform a dash update before selling, so make sure yours is done before pickup. Dealer needs fully updated PADS, and special cable for this. A new stock map is also expected to be released soon.

If only it came with a free bike upon purchase of the system. Do you know why the slips are not compatible? Did they change the mid-pipe outlet diameter again? It can't be the headers if the new full system is compatible with the old bikes

stock 2017 header outlet moved and changed angles, and the RH rearset exhaust holder moved on the 2017s. Exhaust flapper and servo moved too.

Full systems work because all of that gets changed, and the can hangs from passenger peg/bracket not the rearset. Frame/oil pan/engine are same clearances as a 2016 RSV4 RR/RF

    2016 RSV4 RR/RF slip-ons are a one year only fitment. Those are unique slip-ons.

Is there a way to confirm if your dealer has done this Dash update? Additionally, any knowledge on whats involved in the update and new mapping?
Does the new Can still have the exhaust flapper?

I've got the 2017 Tuono Factory on order... waiting anxiously for the phone call to go pick it up.

Forgive my ignorance. What does the race map do? Is it just optimized for a catless slip-on or does it make any other changes. I know my ducati has a nasty lean spot around 3800 for emissions reason. I'm hoping the Aprilias don't have the same issue. If they do, will this map take care of it? I'm waiting on my 2017 to come in and I know I'm going to want to put a pipe on it right away.

I saw that stuff with the slip ons and rearset for the 17s. Figured 16 would be the odd year out.
Oh well, there are ways to fit the old slip on systems to 16s.

    Thanks for sharing Ed.

Wow. $1800 for a slip-on. I realize that comes with RACE Unlock, but for my '13 I think I paid a total of $700 all-in with Slip On and Unlock. I realize its "what the market will bear", and Ed - This aint a poke at AF1 and I hope people line up at that price for you and keep AF1 in the black......but its funny....I was considering a 2017, and now knowing this is where its at right now with Slip-Ons (a MUST DO for me), Im going to hold onto my 2013 for a year more.

The RR/RF ECU costs more to begin with. So there's that.

But you already have paid the ecu with the bike .. they only give unlock code for your ecu, not a new one !!

the RACE ecu part #s went live today, so that means probably 3-4 weeks out. Probably about the same time the map becomes available by the unlock code

We also pre-ordered a batch of Corse Italy ones for RSV4 too.

Handy chart they put out today including a warranty statement.

I always wondered if that style Ti can from Akra would migrate over from the new R1 series.. looks like it will!
