raff is your exhaust twisted a little? perhaps a round file could lengthen the holes to twist it away.

    ---
keep trying with the carb tune. there are tuning guides that might help.

sublunacy, it's not the problem of the mounting holes. I already had to slightly adjust the upper mounting point, but it could be caused by the fact that the "ear" on the carter had to be welded. Both mounting points on the engine carter are on the same surface, and past those points the exhaust itself gets closer to the engine, almost touching the rear wheel. I had an idea to cut one of the welds by the expansion chamber and weld it again, just giving it a small angle to the outside, in order to keep the needed distance to fit the mudguard.

The missing distance is small, I would say max 10 - 12 mm, so having in mind the lenght of the exhaust, the angle correction won't be significant.

The other possible solution is to cut the mounting sheet from the exhaust and weld it in a different position, turning the exhaust slightly to the outside.

I'll discuss it with the exhaust guy on Thursday or Friday. He should have more experiance with that kind of problems

On jixaw's movie I saw that the LV exhaust mounting - the flat bars - it is much better, easier to adjust to the correct position. Technigas solution is similar to the original one - a flat steel sheet - so the measurements should be perfect. And apparently they are not...

ok i figured you tried that/ for all the piaggios the a22 needle is the winner. the needle is straight near the tip so it works good on scoots.

    Hello,

Another update: I lifted the needle (to the 2nd level - was on the 4th) and it seems that the problem disappeared. I really wanted to come back home on the scoot tonight, but the rear bulb wasn't working, so I left the scoot in the garage, and came back by car, buying the bulb on a petrol station. Imagine - one standard bulb, 2 european cars, but none of them uses this standard... And I had it on every single car before... Mine, my father's, company cars...

I'm going to bring it home tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

The tecnigas exhaust positionning is crap. Having mounted all the plastics, the exhaust is extremely high, all the gases go underneath the plastics, and going out through every hole, i.e. from between the legs
As I added some oil to the tank it looks quite strange

Exhaust system / welding specialist on Friday / Saturday

Carb adjusting during the weekend. And lots of fun on 2 wheels, hope the weather will be fine

    Update's update:

Took the scoot home Runs smoothly and accelerates quickly up to 40 kmh, then from 50 kmh up to 70+. There's a hole in the power between 40 and 50 kmh... Have to figure out why.

The max speed on the speedometer was just below 80 kmh, will check it with GPS. But will definitely be above 70 kmh with one person on flat.

Passed the technical control today (equivalent of the british MOT) - the inspector asked precisely what kind of cylinder has been put inside... Hahaha...

Somehow the seat lock is stuck. I cannot put the key inside to the end, so cannot refuel ;( The problem is I've seen it only after I stopped at the petrol station... I had access to it yestarday before I assembled the whole plastics and sat on the seat. The lock itself works properly, I've opened it hundreds of times during the last 4 days. The key cylinder is blocked. And that's priority one!

    Another update:

The key cylinder is working, although not smoothly, yet. The choke isn't working at all... Starting cold takes a couple of minutes, needs to be taken off and checked what's going wrong exactly... I'll have to take apart all the rear plastics 'playing' with the exhaust, I'll do it then.

The vacuum connector in the carter is shit (the one which is in no way attached to the carter). I glued it with silicone, which was ejected by pressure after it dried for a few hours... I cleaned the silicone and connected the hose there, covering the intake manifold connector with a rubber cover delivered with the carb. During one of the rides at around 70 kmh the connector with the hose was simply blown out of the carter and the engine died instantly. I started the engine it with no problem, but could not start cold the next day. I have to glue the connector to the carter with thread glue or with some kind of JBWeld.

I spoke to the shop where I bought the exhaust from. They told me to send it back to them, they will send it back to Spain, to the factory, and the producer will decide what to do. It'll take 6 to 8 weeks, which is 6 to 8 weeks with no exhaust for me... Hahaha... Normally it was certified for the engine / scooter model... By who? Themselves?
Never ever buy a tecnigas exhaust!!!

I'm trying to find an exhaust welding guy in the neighbourhood that could weld the things correctly for a reasonable price. I found a custom exhaust producer, but he wants a fortune (more than a new tecnigas exhaust is worth...) for the job, which is in fact making 2, max 3 weldings.

I'll have a couple of mornings off now, I'll try to fix all the problems until next weekend, but of course I'm riding the scoot as often as I can

Guys, what are RPMs at idle on the Malossi cylinder? Should it be the same as with the original / factory setup?
