    WOW

    Aren't you cold?

I'd love to see the Habana ride uncompressed video. YT compression is crap...

Just took out the silentblocks... God... Normally those should be pressed out on a hydraulic press. But when the rubber is completely gone (I took it from the rear one by hand...), there's nothing the press could stick to...

Dropbox or any other cloud service seems perfect.

Got today most of the small stuff: nuts, bolts, gaskets, front silentblocks, bearing, sparkplug cap, brake pads The back silentblock, the gear oil are still on the way. Three things missing - choke mount (was already ordered, but got a call it's no longer available, central stand axis, central stand springs. Hope to find / order them during the weekend Aaaa, still looking at the reed valve spacer and the manifold...

One more questions - jets for the carbs. Which one to chose? I'm not asking about the size, but the producer. I cannot find sets of original ones (from Dell'orto), only Polini's, Stage 6's and BGM's. Jets are precision parts, should be machined perfectly. Which ones to chose? Any experiances?

Precise machining I remeber one company I was selling stainless steel machining bars to. They were making the tiny screws that are keeping eywear glasses holders together. Bars diameter was around 3 mm, and they were machining it further to get metric threads like M2... It's hard to keep it in fingers... Haha

what in bananas is the stainless rod for?

    ---
are you planning to do your own jetting and needle? then what is there to explain. its all simplified theory to explain a number of fuel circuits and vacuum signal.

~do some searches. we dont do futuristic novels here

    -------------
look at dellorto. 3 slides/ 28 needles plus idle jets and mains. better get some paper and write down your results. try a 70-90 main jet kit in 6mm i think.

Haha, sublunacy, I know my English is bad... sometimes I'm not wearing glasses (or eyeglasses), I think I do not even know the correct names in Polish... But OK, googled it down:

the company was machining the tiny screws that are joining eyeglasses temples to their frame.

As for the carb, for the moment I'm not planning any jetting. I did some research, I've bookmarked several sites and documents where the jetting is explained. I know the range of the main jet to look for is between 70 and 90, there are such kits available. The thread diameter for the PHVA is 6 mm. I'll try to look for original Dell'orto just in case, or rather for the weeks to come

ok. good job. i get all my little rods and tubing/ carbon/ shim stock from the local hobby store. your english is great. no problem

    ---
if you make a carb adaptor and use or lose the airbox i can help with carb and cvt tuning.

    ---
for now i would get the 70cc cyl prepaired and the reeds installed. get an adaptor made and delete the airbox or you might die from over working and frustration with needles and slides.

    ---
on that topic. wich needle and slide did you get?

if it was me i would make an adaptor and jbweld the carb balls deep in the adaptor. use the adaptor bolts to remove the carb. the male spiggot on that phva is....not helping anything. the carb is heavy.... take a look and good luck

good good. with those parts the carb needs a restrictor. i have the doppler mesh top filter wich would be perfect for your build. it has 2 different restrictor tubes but it still flows alot more air than my stock airbox. it would be nearly perfect.

i was just saying to jixaw i found a way to remove the sharp edges from the cylinder ports is with a hobby knife. you can slice off the sharp edges nicely and its fast and hard to screw up wich is the problem with the expensive power tools.

try it on the stock cylinder for practice then try the malossi

    Guys, a new discovery:

Apparently it should fit perfectly, I'm waiting for some mesurements and photos before confirming the order. The guy has got lots of original Aprilia parts

    ---------------

Edit: it ain't a discovery, jog wrote about it in jixsaw's post last July... As shown on the manifold, its diameter is 20 mm. Perfect for the 17,5 mm Dell'orto I understand it's the smallest diameter, and that the Dell'orto TS carb will fit in

The good news - found the part. Brand new & original. The guy has got 10 of them.

A third of the price of Malossi. Local shipping included

    ----------------

    Edit:

The manifold is on the way

Guys, two things about the fuel level gauge. It was showing different things far from reality, I think I could be more accurate lifting the scooter up to determine its weight...

I took the sensor apart, thought it could be dirty or damaged, but it looks correct. I remember two problems: the gauge isn't falling with a constant speed, it's much slower in the beginning and quicker as the tank empties. Perhaps it's normal and there's nothing I should worry about? And the other problem is that it's not showing that the tank is almost empty when it should. I have a similar problem in my other car. I got used to it as you can still drive around 85 miles when the gauge reaches zero but with a smaller tank and the fact that the Habana gauge's working the other way I'd like it would be more precise. Any ideas? jixaw, how's your fuel gauge working?

jixaw, I wasn't sure where was the 20 mm diameter mesured. If it was the smallest diameter, or the inlet diameter from the carb size. Small angle difference shouldn't be a problem.

The engine halved, I found differences between the malossi cylinder ports and the engine... Up to 2 mm... Working on them to align precisely
