Awesome pics.... looking great on the track! Was your chain adjusted properly? Not too tight? Really bizarre that it would break, especially with only 60HP to deal with!

I had it looser than spec, at 35mm

Iím tempted to try the ERT again...maybe this was a fluke or thereís something else going on that Iím not realizing or aware of?

In 25 years Iíve never had any DID chain fail so this has really got me stumped. One thing that I did notice after the chain fell off is that the countershaft sprocket was covered in gas from the left carb overflow...Iím guessing a stuck float needle valve. I havenít had time to dig into it, but could some gas on the chain really cause or contribute to a failure?

Between the Harada replica losing kick start levers and now the Cup bike shedding a chain, my friends are having a field day making fun of me! LOL

Forgot to mention but I seized a piston on the Cup Challenge track bike at Thunderhill in November. A piece broke off the piston and went out the exhaust.

Only got 2 laps in, LOL!

Iím happier news, I took out the Mk 1 Alex Debon replica today to get some fresh gas through the carbs.

Ive yet to get out on mine but I'm inclined to take a second 4s along if I ever pay for a 2 day track day.

Took the Harada replica riding today and blew the cobwebs out. This bike is such a gem.

Rode with my buddy who has a RSV4 and what a treat to hear both bikes at full song in the canyons.

Meanwhile, my ass is freezing off in Idaho, but I am making progress in getting mine road legal before spring. Still need to remove the slicks for DOT tires, and get some of the electrical parts in the mail. Praying for no discontinued notice on the back ordered LH switch kit. The RH switch kit is already discontinued so I'll be jumpering a few of the wires on the main harness plug.

In short, lucky you!!! Your smile should be bigger!

The rain is coming so itís all about to be over!

Once the roads get wet, it takes a long dry spell for them to completely dry out.

But yeah, the weather where I live is awesome, but the cheapest house starts at $1.2M so Iím pretty much a pauper here.

I couldn't find it anywhere on this site and my buddy said it was really valuable as a starting point for keeping his bikes running well for the past couple decades.
