if you go open filter the cp carbs will be the ticket. you still wont want it any bigger than 16-17mm. the cp carbs are setup for open filters.
i didnt realize there were stock clutch springs but anyway they just slip more.... they are a pain to install / and overheating the clutch is no joke. use at your own risk.

i see no point in clutch springs for your future. it will pull so hard as it is. just try it stock.

the dynos are handy but the writers have issues with a number of things. my biggest beefs are the hp readout instead of kilowatts. if you want to look at dynos the is some good ones for piaggio that explain how nothing can beat the yasuni z untill you go to midrace and change every part available. even then the torque is the same but the rpms go UP

--- on piaggio the z is king and the r is a tuners pipe
--- diploma for engine repair in 2012 ---

derbi bullet 2006 - piaggio AC - malossi T.C. half - custom GPS dash - TPR 70CC - topperf crank - vl13 reed and spacer- yamaha rt180 kickstand - giannelli shotV4 - phbg 21mm - doppler mesh top venturi filter

complete wtp volta bmx 2012 - sanko seamless japanese cromoly heat treated and blue printed frame - 21lbs

    1992 lt250r suzuki quadracer - maier plastics -chromed shearer pipe - chromed works suspension - ++++++++ - 220lbs

    previous vehicles - subaru legacy turbo 1991 - mazda mx6 turbo 1990.

Also, for the exhaust comparison, it's for a Minarelli engine. The numbers will be different on the piaggio but the curve will be similar. When I put the Malossi springs on my stock clutch, the takeoff was much better but it was toast after a summer of riding everyday. I'd say leave it stock or if you do get the springs don't use the yellow ones, they're too stiff and will cause it to slip.

What i'd do if i wanted a reliable but quick bike to head to work or whatever is a setup like this. I'd go for the Malossi cast iron 70cc or the Airsal Sport 70cc and a new small end bearing to go with it, a Yasuni R, a set of 5.5g rollers, a box of polini clutch springs so you can get it to set off how you want and selection of main jets between 60 and 90 and start at around 85 and work your way down until it runs right. Also remove the restrictor in the airbox which is a rubber bung in the part where air enters, it made a lot of difference even when i was using a stage 6 sport pro mk2. Also at this state of tune you don't really need a new variator or clutch and definately not a high end reedblock like the vforce 3 because the reeds are way too stiff and will reduce power. A set of Malossi carbon reeds would be a better and cheaper option or if you want to change the airfilter to an open one you can get the stage 6 intake manifold and reedblock for fairly cheap. This setup if done correctly will be close to as reliable as the bike is standard and won't need new piston rings or a rebuild for thousands of miles (i wish i could say the same for mine, the piston ring lasts 500 miles ) If you want your bike to be quicker than it is with a basic sport 70 setup then it will cost a fair bit of money more if you still want it to be reliable due to the need of a better crank and variator. A quicker setup would be something like swapping out the Malossi cast iron to something like the Malossi MHR Replica or the Airsal racing, both are still twin piston ring though so they should both last a long time without any need to change them. You'd also need something like a stage 6 hpc crank and a good variator like the Malossi Multivar or the Stage 6 Sport Pro. The performance increase will be quite a difference though and the bike will easily do 60mph+. You could use the MHR Replica or the Airsal Racing on the standard crank but it's a bit iffy. You can get lucky and it'll survive like my friends Aerox which has a stage 6 racing mk2 and a yasuni c16 with the standard crank which has over 20,000 miles on it now or it could fail like my friends SR which only had around 6000 miles on it and the less powerful MHR Replica. Only use the standard Piaggio belts as well, i've tried the polini kevlar which exploded into a mess and left me stranded, the stage 6 belt which started to melt and the motoforce kevlar belt which started to fray and smelled of cannabis for some reason.

Had to laugh at the belt story, thanks.

Thanks for all your help in getting this together.

I have decided to stick with the Malossi Sports but get the Yasuni R instead of the Z for the tuning potential down the track.

racing planet is my favorite chain store.

if you get the 70cc malossi bbk it comes with reeds/ i think.

you only need a 34 idle jet i think. the 36 will be to much fuel.

    ---
you can drill out the stock rollers with a stepped drill bit/ or drill bit set. need a small scale. and a rpm gauge.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--on piaggio the lightest you can go on the rollers is 7.2g or it wont pass 75 km/h. -- if you mess with that you will fail. take it up w engineering department.

    --
two sets of weights from 7-8 grams...... take it up w engineering and put away your pipe dreams.

Hi Sub....have you seen any SR's for sale in Ontario lately. I had a 2009 and sold it but I'm looking to pick up another one. They don't come up on Kijiji very frequently.

the insurance is the same for anything below 400cc. i would look into a suzuki rv200 or tu250 first. but anyway ottawa has a good number of used scoots. quebec has tons and they are all stock too.

used 50cc aprilia is maybe 1000 dollars. the derbi bullet/atlantis is the same thing and it goes for 6-700 bucks. if you want it fast then get a liquid cooled aprilia.
