I know. We're in the carbed section. I just threw the DiTech part in for an example. They're more expensive and complicated to tune with only 2 options for cylinders. At 50cc, yours can be a great and reliable bike that wakes up when the basic mods are done.

2strokesforlife is a charmer and an asset to the communty! thanks for posting. i think in a way you saved the day. the diatech itself is a great choice on a small motorcycle with cvt.

If you're looking for the most bang for you buck go for what i said before, it's all in stock on Pedparts which was an Airsal sport kit for 112, a box of Dellorto Stage 6 6mm 60-82 for 15, 6 x stage 6 5.25g 19x15.5 rollers for 8 and a box of Polini clutch springs for 10 which adds up to 145. For 145 you will struggle to get anything quicker.

My bike has done just over 14,000kms so would that mean I need a new crank too?

sounds about right but i thinks snipez is suggesting a new rod bearing at the piston / and put some more miles on it.

you can do a couple simple tests to check the crank while you have the cylinder off. no sweat.

If there's nothing wrong with your crankshaft now, then it should be fine. If it starts to knock or the crankcase bearings go bad, it'll have to get taken apart and replaced. If you have the money for it, replacing the crank at the same time you go to 70cc is a better choice because you can get it all done at one time instead of having to take it all apart again.

So if I can't hear knocking then it's fine? Don't want to go to put the 70 kit on and see the crank needs replacing because then I won't be able to ride

I rode all last year with 70cc and a stock crank before I had to replace it. Like I said, even if you do just the basic mods, it'll be a better machine that is reliable. Be careful, once you start adding the mods, you'll want to do more. Lol! It's addictive...

I'm just saying to start small because even if you do eventually go to 70cc, you'll have to do those mods anyway.

As 2stokesforlife said it is damn addicting XD I've spent a ridiculous amount of money on my bike over the 3 years i've had it. Your stock crank should be fine too with that kit and your exhaust because it isn't revving all that high. My friend has an Aerox which has a weaker crank than the sr with 30000km's on it and he's got a stage 6 racing mk2 and a yasuni c16! He's used it like that for about a year now and the crank is still going strong even though he rags the poor thing. On the other hand though my friends SR with not that many km on it destroyed the cranks big end bearing with just a malossi mhr replica and a stage 6 pro replica exhaust. It's all luck of the draw really whether your crank can take it or not but using good 2 stroke oil and not riding like a maniac definately improves the chances of the crank lasting with a 70.
