The original was a 180 tire on a 6-inch wheel. A 190 tire would fit. Later versions had a 5.5-inch wheel, also with 180 tire.

I presume the new bike will have a 6.5-inch wheel?

According to the latest info from Aprilia, the wheels are the same that are used on newest rsv4 and tuono v4 1100, so 6 inches.

Here's an attachment pdf with more info on the models.

That will make a pretty sharp arch, so very quick tip-in.

Hopefully, i can't wait to test drive the newest shiver. On paper the remodel looks solid, with the increased torque and traction control, but can't say much more before driving one. The weight is another issue, the 750 wasn't exactly a light bike in it's class and we have no idea, how much weight was gained due to electronic gizmos.

Btw, while visiting Eicma show, it seemed odd to me that the new engine is still using a single spark plug per cylinder. I tought adding 2 spark plugs per cylinder (like on the Capo 1200) would make the combustion better and improve fuel efficiency.

Here's some pictures of the new engine ->

That's a good thought. the SD 1290 runs 2 spark plugs and I'm sure that's the only way it is euro4 compliant haha. Maybe there is a patent on it blocking competitors???

Ducati has had DS (dual spark) motors for a long time. Probably not a patent issue.

I was thinking along the same lines. Why don't the new engines have dual spark plugs, which would make it easier to be euro 4 compliant (Better combustion, better fuel economy and less exhaust fumes) . Alltough, the bikes won't be available in the spring of 2017, they might still change the design.

Dual spark plug systems are not patented. The new 1200 caponord and the old ETV 1000 caponord also had dual spark plug setup.

Don't know about that one, a dual spark setup will be a lot of redesigning work. On my old SV650S the second spark plug was in the side of the cilinder head. The primary spark plug was between the camshafts.

Not to mention the change in the ECU software and wiring with the second spark plug. They might save the dual spark to future improve the engine for EURO 5 emissions..?

What is dual spark? The shiver has 2 plugs per cylinder already.

It only has 1 per cylinder x 2 cylinders = 2 total spark plugs.
