in my opinion the two best classes are touring and full race. everything in between should be skipped if possible. but its more about expectations and pros and cons.

Been riding with bbk for about 3000km now. Works just fine but after yesterday and almost wot run of 300km's it started making this awful rattling noise. Doesnt seem to affect on performance tho. Im going to need a new rear tyre and Im placing an order on that soon but what else should I get? Its done 14000km now with original rollers and original belt. Should I change them both and from where this rattling noise typically comes? Im guessing rollers.

Any reason to go for kewlar belt such as malossi or replace the old one with oem?

BTW top speed is somewhere between 85-90km/h. It could go faster but it screams too much so Im guessing I could benefit from higher last gear?

the stock belt is better length for your stock/touring kit. kevlar is to stiff and slow.

i really like my continental twist rear tire. double grip of the stock tires and they will still last a long time.

after that look for a primary gear up kit and bearing- plus a airsal 70cc sport will finish up your bike perfectly.

Changed rollers and belt. Tighten every nut and bolt of the exhaust. Nothing wrong with wheel bearing and weights+belt were like almost new. Still the rattling noise is there! What else to check?

I noticed that there was quite a lot of clutch dust in the variator? Could clutch make that sound?

Bike runs as it used to. Only the awful sound is problem.

Still trying to figure what causes the sound. Took the variator apart again. I started to think some of the bearing is gone. I tried the shaft in the variator that comes from camshaft if it moves but no movement at all so my crankshaft main bearings should be ok.

Next thing to do is to open the top end. I guess.

Took a little video. Weird noise is on when idle and high reving. It goes away on certain throttle position and if you let go off the throttle at high speed the noise goes away immediately.

Bearings rotate all the time and has nothing to do with throttle position right? I mean if the revs are high the bearings should scream even when I drop the throttle. That makes me think or hope that it isnt about bearings

Then again I have pretty much checked everything for resonation...

Well now its dead. I warmed it up to second bar yesterday. Drove 300m and gave it full throttle to manage steep hill and it just died on me. Nothing made sound just stopped. Pushed it back home and tried to restart but nothing happens. When cranking it via button it sounds like not enough compression. When kicking i cannot tell if theres enough compression cos it feels quite normal.

So piston ring gone? All this time the noise has come from piston?

it sounds like a bearing or rod problem. it also sounds like the needle is running it lean at part throttle. but anyway if you neeed a hand rebuing the crankcase or whatever- msg me

Took the motor out of the frame today. Disasembled top end to see whats going on. Reason was pretty obvious. Needle bearing was in million pieces. Piston ring was stuck and head has a little spot where metal of the bearing has hit. Also piston pin is worn and was really stuck so the bearing has done its faulty job quite a long time.

How could you even prevent something like that? It had only done 3000km with this bbk.

So evolution 2 on its way. No idea what tho. Something more powerful and better crank + bearings. But do they even sell high tech needle bearings?

ok. whith out a tachometer the can happen. a naraku crank - non hpc - should do it. plus crank bearings and a cylinder. perhaps a naraku.

naraku and motoforce are your only choices i think.

I was thinking somerhing like this:

    -c4 skf bearings and seals
    -Stage6 HPC 12mm crank
-21mm dellorto with quick jet change
-Stage6 Intake System and open filter
    -Stage6 Sport Pro 70cc (MK2) cylinder
    -Stage6 Pro pipe
    -slightly longer gears
    -stage6 oversize variator
    -stage6 torque clutch

that cylinder melts alot i hear. your going to be on side of the road and walking more than you will be driving it im sure.
more like this.... top perf trophy 70. regular crank. stage6 pro. 19mm cp carb. open filter. malossi sport vario. stock rear pulley.

    ---
no gear up kit unless your brave and very smart. it will just bog you down and ruin the piston rings from running at high load or you will need a rear pulley to reduce the load beyond 75km/h.

mostly hp is a lie. its just torque related to gearing. novice mechanics get lost in it while real tuners are just using it to decide on the final drive ratio. staying in 2nd gear rather than shifting to third. if you like driving a light switch similiar to first gear then you should be a drag racer.
