    wheelies!@!

hey guys i rececntly removed all the faring except for the rear cowl and put in a 12 o clock bar in the back. i love ripping wheelies and i can get them pretty good now if i stand up, but for sit downs i have to rev out to like 10k and dump the clutch . so i was hopping to change out the sprokets ( front one is meesed up) for power up wheelies with out the clutch. i dont need incredible top speed like 55 60 would be perfect. and i would also prefer to leave to front one at 12 teeth and change the back one only. which will be better for what i need an 48 or 49 tooth???

    thanks
    chris

ps i will post some videos if somone will host them.

How do you wheelie a standard RS 50? I haven't been to get mine to do one yet. Can you tell me if this is the right technique? Go along slowly break hard to load the forks then when they spring back up with a load of revs dump the clutch and try to get your weight back.

    Thanks Alan

You dont need to brake first, just rev the bike to about 8-9K and dump the clutch.

thats one way to fall off and brake ur bike!!!

hahahaha u got it sorta rite like hybrid said... just sit on the bike in first gear with the clutch pulled in rev to red line!!! n just let go of the clutch and the front wheel will come up.... if it dus not use a wee bit of pullin wit ur arms but u shouldnt hav to..... but it isnt that gd on a stock bike,,, the wheel will pop up n fall rite away.. n the bike still almost stall,,, not that nice... but if u pull the clutch in on the way back down u can get the revs up n take off with a bit of speed

the key to riding wheelies is balance and knowing how to use your rear break. the rear break will 99% time save you from flipping the bike. as soon as you feel the bike break the pivit point tap the back breaks and the front will drop, then as it starts to drop get on the gas again.

anyone can pop up the front the trick is riding it.

    i will post vid asap

I won't bother doing it any more because of that reason, If it would get some good height I would still do it occasionally but as it is its just not worth it. I'ld rather practice endos because i need to get better at them.

i hate to tell you but endo are just as "bad" for the bike if not worse. when you do an endo and the back comes back down ( dont you hear that horrible crashing down sound?) anyways when i do them everything get slapped around when i land the back. in reality if you have a good chain and the bike is maintained properly you wont have any problems, i have a Crf 150 motard and i rip wheelies everyday , that all i do and the chain and sprokets are in better condtion that when i started. look at it this way dumping the clutch to wheelie is basicly like a very fast and HIGH rpm shift when you are driving. the best way to wheelie with out dumping is to stand up get a rolling start to get the RPMs high and power up through the powerband.

just ordered new rear sprokets and should help me out alot with the wheelies.
