got another obd1 lead on the way to try it again.
I've tried with the the latest driver ending in 30 and with the earlier 14 version and both the same.

Ok managed to get it working. The blue usb lead was wired up wrong pins 4 and 5 were not to ground. Need a new usb lead not the obd1 adaptor. The blue lead was from post 3 on this thread and was incorrect.

    So you tell:
Ok managed to get it working
So it works now with another blue one? Or you think you need another blue one?

I once had someone, didn't get it working, got a new blue one, and another and the third one wasn't working, he shipped it to us to try, because we could't understand and it works out the blue one was fine. In the end it had to do with his pc/driver install. But luckily most people just get it working themselves without questions.

The things people get from amazon US are a problem, because you don't know what you get exactly

    Indeed.

Stupid question number one for when these bits arrive. Do the red and black crocodile clips go on the + and - sides of the battery?

    RED + battery
    Black - battery

But the black is not needed in our case because it gets the ground also over the 3 pin connector

Does it look likely that the tunerpro functionality will be possible for the ecu?

Do you mean the Tunerpro RT(realtime) functionality or map editing and re-uploading?

It's on the wishlist, what we need for it is some logging from another tool that does that. We don't have an 7sm bike nearby what makes it difficult. For the Guzzi ecu's, I have them all here.
The thing is, when you develop, first it is good to have reading the map working. Then with writing the first step is to get the thing in programming mode, and erase it. And then it's empty:-) So if you don't get it right you loose an ecu. We have never lost an ecu :-).

With reading a map you get it out unencrypted. But at writing you first have to encode it with a secret key, that takes time to figure out. Is with all ecu's now, read any car tuning forum.

One thing to note is that in new RSV4s there is also ABS and Navigator don't have controls for that, so you need PADS. Beard is waiting for someone to log those APRC setting functions.
Is there any advance on being able to enable aprc functions?
