Nice looking VTR with an appropriate plate. You'll have to write up a comparison between it and the RSVR.

I've said it somewhere that did have a trial ride with a one before doing final decision to buy my 1'st RSV Factory, as a 'commuter' Factory smokes the dust in front of SP-1 , now I can get a bigger picture off this Honda's cult bike.

I do not have room in my garage so I offered a shared ownership to one of my motorcycle friend ( running now with old VFR) while I know that he'll have it and we got agreement done ! So this going to be our sunny sunday drive.

I would be even more happy if this has had as low miles than my current Factory ( just over 10 000 miles) but this has 30 000 miles, not a lot but still.

Very nice! I always like the Honda (over hereRC51) as well.
Look forward to a comparison between this and the Ape.

RC is heavy. The Ape is more nimble... way more refined.

Expecially if compared to a Factory-version, comparison to a RSV R would be more right ?

SP-1 is a 2time WSBK champion 2000 and 2002, I would imagine it is no slouch.

I did not mean SP-1 to be slow but the overall riding experience, it's full japan 'steel' while (my) gen2 Factory does have all the 'hard' components what's possible.

Other owner did contact the former owner, he said that SP-1 one to be an wheelie monster what's hard to believe ...... but if tuned right ( no cats on/ does it have those originally ?) it can be 'breathing' one ??!!

Sorry, I was talking about gen2 bike and then the base model R. In gen1 the R was as a Factory.

I know, the gen 2 R is still a step up from the SP1. The Gen 1 was too now you mention it

I have the RC51 motor in this, and this IS a step up from the SP1 haha. As I have a Gen 1 CER and a Gen 2 Factory it's hard to say where it lies in comparison, but it's lighter than everything I can say that.

I finally did something! I actually did 3 things!
    - I changed out my trickle charger for a solar one
    - I set the clock to proper time
    - I changed the idiot light (shift blinky)
    - I started it (maybe this is 4 things?)!

I used to own a 00' SP1 after owning my 04 Gen II RSVR. And as said above, the RSVR is overall a more complete/better finished bike. Back then I didn't realize why most Italian bikes are more expensive until you own a period same japanese bike. I don't think that applies now though.
The RSVR was definately faster in a straight line, and the SP1 is NOT a wheelie monster!(at least mines wasn't) But they are very cool just because it was essentually the bike that was being raced in both AMA and WSBK. Hard to find clean ones now though. And I would recommend finding an SP2 instead of a 1. Easier to find parts for.
