new licence points system for bikers only?!?!?!

heard on the radio today. that there is a proposed new licence points system which applies only to bikers. apparently this is how it goes.......

if you are in a 30 zone and you are caught at:

    31-35mph---you get 2 points
    36-50mph---you get 4 points
above 50 you get 6 points
    instant ban at 60mph

also, the fines are going to increase with the speed.
this applies to 40 zones and 50 zones aswell, but it increases in different increments.......

while cars keep the old system.............hmmmmmmmm

the government is really clamping down on bikes, maybe we shud do the honourable thing, give up our bikes/ pride and joy, and stop being the scum of the earth bikers, how about we do something which is looked down on less, like burgal ppl...mugg grannies, spend our time in the pub and start fights as opposed to riding about enjoying life, meeting other bikers etc.

id tell the "peoples party" to suck my dick, but half the fuckers wud

Tis shit really they dont like us really do they?, Yes we speed but i dont know many/none bikers that have killed people either in cars or on foot, its the otherway around people are killing/knocking off bikers. I thought if u was doing double the speed limit u got an instant ban?.

its not much different now, only difference is the variable points, its always been a instent ban if your doing 30mph over the speed limit

Just do what I do and take the piss. When I see a tallivan or guy with a laser then I just slow down to 20 if its a 30 limit. The thing I hate about some of the limits is that I lose concentration coz they seem so slow and my eyes start to wander "ooh thats a nice garden" etc . Can remember in some country they put the speed limit up 10kph on the motorways and the accident rate went down because drivers are more aware and concentrate more on the road ahead and not the scenery.

I personally think its a much more flexible system, no worse than that of the current system.

The only people that should worry would be Mr (Chav) Nova and Mr (Idiot) BMW who don't know how to drive.

TBH the majority of problems on the road are caused by idiot drivers and salesman.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but Mr Nova, is dangerous, and Mr BMW is even worse, if you've ever been rear ended by one you'll know how heavy they are.

Personally I think all drivers should attend a motorcycle awareness course before being given a licence as well as having restrictions imposed upon them.

If anyone is wondering, I have both a car and a bike, Audi A4 and an RS, so I know what both ends are like.

And you never exceed the speed limit on your bike? You never take fast corners? What is the point of riding an RS125 if your going to never use it for its intended purpose, racing..
The world is our racetrack and if you ride within your own limits, if you dont do anything stupid like speeding through school zones or excessively speeding through heavy traffic and your willing to accept that a police officer might be waiting around the corner with a radar and a heafty fine, then thats JUST DANDY...

Fusian - sell your bike and buy a moped, you're a disgrace to sportsbike riders.

    Mate,

    You have me all wrong!

I speed on every trip I make, I ride to my abilities, i was getting at the root of the problem being primarily other drivers - namely those who drive cars, in particular the two ends of the car driving spectrum.

I am happy to take a fast corner, as for mr plod, I have a gps scanner to tell me where the plods are hiding behind the bushes.

All I will say on the matter is, there is always a time and a place to do and not to do - it's just a case of being sensible, I agree the world is your playground but you have to be sensible about riding and stay safe for the sake of those around you.

I really don't see myself as a disgrace to sportsbikers, and no mate, I'll never have a moped again.

I believe its a stupid new idea!!

How can they guarantee the accuracy of any speedo? Getting done travelling 1 mph above speed limit is stupid. Think of all the vintage cars/bikes that have been on the road for 30 odd years. Are you telling me that their speedos are deadly accurate? Also there is the innaccuracy in reading an analogue speedo. They would have to make manufacturers from now on gurantee their speedos to be accurate to say 3% instead of the old 10%?? And they would all have to be digital - or at least so big that you could easily see if youre doing 30 or 31!! Cos I bloody cant on my bike or car!!
If his premature demise has in some way enlightened the rest of you as to the grim finish below the glossy veneer of criminal life, and inspired you to change your ways, then his death carries with it an inherent nobility. And a supreme glory. We should all be so fortunate. You can say "Poor Toby." I say: "Poor us."

Thats fucked up, when I learnt to drive I was always told that you were allowed up to 10% on your speed which would make 30 - 33, so how the hell can they give us points from 31, no body can stay dead on 30, they either go below or above, the only way that the speed limit will be adhered to exactly is when we have fucking autopilots!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or no body drives or rides anymore and we all fly
I'm down at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun, all torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike.

I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell, and the last thing I see is my heart still beating.

Breaking outta my body and flying away, like a out of hell
