all bikes (warranty or not) effected are covered on this Technical Service Update.....all the ones effected should still be under warranty anyways, so its almost a moot point. They dont pay for coolant (or any other fluids), so make sure your Tech drains it and saves it.

Also this is not a recall, but a product update. Owners WILL NOT receive recall letters. It will be your and your dealer's repsonsibilty to get checked.
Its a shame they are choosing this route. If they know the VINs affected by the batch, they should be proactively requesting to service their customers.

it seems unless there is a high percentage or threat to danger or fatality (i.e. the full engine replacement recall), they are not worried about it too much. I feel like coolant spills and potential burns at speed and/or crashes would warrant action.

Don't get me wrong I am an Aprilia faithful...but this is the kind of thing that would turn the strongest of hearts

it what it is...at least they finally acknowleged the failures

we'll do our best to inform everyone we can about it, and it'll be like a recall. We'll run all the V4 VINs we can find in our systems, and notify our customers.

    I 10000% agree.....it is a critical safety piece.

This is true. Some manufacturers do their best to ignore in the face of litigation, etc. My 2006 Suzuki GSXR1000...the best Japanese bike I ever owned...had a Frame recall after a solid two years of complaints. The result of a non-resolved frame issue is likely death. The steering head literally would break away from the spars due to poorly penetrated welds. I have a picture somewhere on that one...but I wont detract from the thread point. Back to Srs Bzniss

the Aprilia warranty database now lists the USA VINs.....I ran a bunch of them, every VIN I could find

all these need it, and we have already contacted these people.

Seems like all 2012 RSV4 need it, all 2012 Tuono, and some 2013 Tuono need it.

email me your VIN ed@af1racing.com and I will check

Just talked to my dealer, and my bike is one of the ones on the list....... They are ordering the part for the replacement, so hopefully it doesn't take too long

For reference.... my bike is a 2012 with VIN ending in 0043.
