RSV4 Bodywork on early Millie?--Yes is the answer...

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Track-Bike...item460cac8e99

Looks good, initial impression is that the minimalist V4 bodywork i think is a bit at odds with the bulbous plastic tank-(is the earlier metal tank the same shape or narrower?) Plus i think the exhaust needs a shorter link pipe and to kick up a bit more like the V4. Also it would appear that the side fairings on this conversion are longer than V4 items so maybe they have been joined somehow-difficult to see from the pics plus the original fairing inlet air tubes are lurking under there too just visible in one of the pics, also looks like the original bellypan is in the mix too.
Otherwise i think it looks top dollar!
I did email the owner for a bit more info about the conversion, but as he didn't do it he cant offer any info on what fouls, what touches, what needs cutting etc etc..
Seems a fair price for a usable track bike.....

Here is mine...i will update the picture soon have done some paint work but all things are not done...some cuting is needed to make the things fit, and the water cooler is abit bigger on the V2 than on the V4.

    Its a 2000 RSV-R with 1127cc and 07 heads and 60mm TB + 60mm 2-2 smaltsystem and tweaked ignition.

Someone does make kits. His name is Jester86 on the forums, there's an entire thread about it. He's located in the UK.

So happy I found this thread,I am looking to do the track conversion myself soon.
05' Pontiac GTO 6.0 -- Slow, but gets the job done
02' Aprilia RSV Mille -- Needs some TLC, but it's good at heart.

The one thing that keeps this from looking right (in my opinion) is the fact that the stock tank on the Mille is way too big for that bodywork.

Yup.... so maybe two-toning the tank red & white might help break up that illusion.

I would hate to have a smaller tank than stock, just because you would have to fill up every 90 miles. Looks are just one aspect. Usefulness is important too, generations of HD's notwithstanding.

The new RSV4 tank appears to be much smaller visually but doesn't it hold the close to the same amount of fuel or no?
