    Is 09 TE510 any good?

I'm thinking about buying a 09 TE510. Anyone here have any experience with these? They have the Shiver fork and Sachs shock, is there any way to make these components work well. Is the motor reliable? Any input is appreciated.

No direct experience with the '09 TE510, however my TE250 is very reliable and has the same brand suspension. I've ridden with a guy who has a 510 and he's had no complaints. Sorry, but that's all I've got for you.

Thanks for the input. Do you like the suspension on your 250?

I recently picked up an '08 TE250. I couldn't be happier with it. No experience with the 510 but I've found a lot of information on Cafe Husky. I don't know if there were any differences between the '09 and '10 but you may find this thread useful...

Yes for the type of riding I do. A mix of tight wooded trails with roots, rocks, ruts, mud, with some dirt and gravel fire roads thrown in here and there. The bike tracks very well through this, with the forks providing good feedback and the shock keeping the rear hooked up. Very few big jumps though, where it would likely bottom out.

I have an 08 TE 250 and it is an excellent bike. I am 6'2" 210 and the suspension works very well. Will bottom out the rear on some larger MX jumps, but for the trails, it is excellent.

One more guy with a TE250. Mine's an 07. Great bike for tight single track. Not too many hours on mine but it has been completely reliable. Suspension is fine for my 175lbs.

on CH there is a lot of leads for suspension work, depends on where you live. sachs shock will take a racc tech gold valve in it. shock is a quality piece. i have 3 huskys.

I had a new 510 TE as well as a 450 TE --the 510 is basically the same Motor except for the bore --but its as strong as a Ox and will tire you out in the tight stuff --its a handful. One can easily set up the stock suspension to get it t wok pretty well

    Motors are SOLID
