Modify or Reset Code not working for Diagnostics

I am able to successfully change or reset my security code on my Tuono V4R. However, when I try to access the Diagnostics on the Menu, I get an "invalid Code" message. I find the Users Guide to be confusing. Can a more experienced user help me out? What am I doing wrong?

These are 2 different things. User code is for security ( anti theft of sort of ) , the diagnosis code is another story, is used to check faults , reset service alarm wrench etc. Only dealers have ( at least officially ) this diagnosis code .

Thank you Hyper. Do you know if that diagnostics code is the same for everyone or set by the dealer?

In other forums this codes have been removed to avoid any problem with warranty claim , that's why I did not write it , anyway I think is better having it available for any occurrence

How owners knowing the service code would have an effect on warranty I've never really understood? Apart from it allowing you to turn the service icon off it doesn't really allow you to *Do* a lot but it will let the owner identify if there are any error codes showing which at least gives us some idea what might be wrong if they call us from the side of the road.

Its also the only way to switch speed units MPH to KMH for all you "weird" countries....someday the USA might go metric.

That menu is behind the diagnostics menu (where you need that code)

If it was a code meant to be known by final users, aprilia should have printed right on the user manual , dont 'u think so?
Try calling customer service asking for this code as a user ..

I personally found it useful a couple of times but I've read of someone that did some mess by mistake "disconnecting" the ecu in some menu and finally could not start the bike anymore without dealer intervention.

Anyway i'm glad it's not a problem here

Which is the option under diagnostics to turn off the wrench? I had service done right before it came on. Is it "reset coupon", "delete errors" or what?

According to the owners manual only a dealer / service centre can remove the icon but using the 12412 code and the diagnostic page works under reset coupon.

"reset coupon" - makes perfect sense lol.

    Thanks, that did the trick.
