    SXV450 Best plug Gap!

    Hi

I have only had my SXV450 for a week or so i have had many SM's before CRF's, SXF's, RMZ & DRZ but always overlooked the Aprilia until now my first ride was very disappointing i was expecting much more from the bike but the bike is a 2008 with only 600miles and 21hrs on the ecu but the last owner that had the bike from new had never fully de-restricted it and the TPS wasnt right anyway now thats all sorted plus the addition of a Silmoto system, Pipercross filter and VDB 14022 map i am more than happy with the performance. So my next thing to do before i take the bike out to see what its really made of is to do a service since its had mimimal use and no stamps in the service book i doubt its ever had one but here is my question i hope somebody here can help me with what are you guys finding to be the best plug gap to run and do you run different gaps for each cylinder as the fueling seems to differ from front to rear and am i right in thinking the timing is different too?

    Any advice welcome

    Thanks

use NGK CR8EKB and leave the gap as set from NGK.

    hi
what are the main benefits from CR8EIX and CR8EKB
the CR8EIX are irridium and are suppose to last longer the CR8EKB are dual electrode(you would think two sparks would be better)
which are best out of the two
ive tried the CR8EB atandard plugs and the CR8EIX and apart from the price did not notice any difference, did not start no better or run any better, though my rxv550 has allways been a good starter
next oil change im going to try the CR8EKB just to see if there any better
has anybody had any noticeable difference with the plugs or are there any better plugs out there
has anybody tried the DENSO or the BRISK ones
    cheers
    joe

So what would you suggest Stewart for fast road/occasional track day riding?
Or does certain maps ruin plugs quicker?
I've uesd all except brisk and felt no difference except price.

I have now fitted the CR8EIX and all i can notice is bike starts better and possibly idle's smoother than it was doing on the factory plugs. I also looked at Brisk before i ordered the NGK but wasnt sure about them because i also read that somebody had starting and running issue's after fitting Brisk.

I use CR8 EIX, they do seem to start better, but only if the bike is right in the first place !
