    Hello from Italy

    Hello everyone!
While surfing on the internet I stumbled upon this forum. I discovered that you know the Beetle. And 'beautiful as an Italian product is also known in the U.S. is usually just the Vespa that has been successful abroad.

I have trouble with English but using google translate I understand that some of you have had the usual problems with the rotax engine. Water pump, recording valves, timing chain etc etc..
Over the years I have personally performed maintenance at the beetle and I made some guides.

If it can be useful can be found here:

It is a Scarabeo 200 GT under construction with rotax engine (176 cc). At the time I have traveled 52000 km without many problems. I am very happy with this scooter. During the week I mount the malossi multivar 2000. The original has worn out now.

so youve the factory 200 not the upfitted kit on a 150 ? youre 200 uses a different crank the thee original 150. I imagine thee exttra 26 cc make a big difference probably adds 12 mph to top speed? so my main question is at what speed do you feel comfortable traveling on your Gt from the point of not feeling like you are going to break something or it might shake apart .. 65-70 mph? accurate speed not bug speed.I have noticed with a lot of the 150's about 60-63 mph is about max on a normal 89 degree day doing about 200 miles a day push this limit and costs to keep running can get expensive better to get larger engine (250) beo.

So did Mr. rotax reasoning truly commendable, has boosted the 150cc practice. only by increasing the stroke, resulting in a 177cc.
without changing the bore, and 'been lengthened the stroke of 8.4 mm. keep intact all the other components, chain head etc.etc.
have taken a drive shaft, have moved outside of 4.2 mm, the center of the crank pin, resulting in a longer stroke 'long of 4.2 mm. both in TDC. that in SME. Then, stroke of genius, with that shaft shortening the rod of 4.2 mm. so 'have been realigned to the old TDC. all 150, out of 8.4 mm in all the old pmi. ie 'the ram of 8.4 mm. more 'below.

However, the 200 has a top speed of 140 km / h on the highway so you can easily keep an average speed of 110 km / h without the engine suffers.

im not sure what all this pin moving and machining is all about boring n stroking etc certainley is not going to add to longevity.. now balancing pieces will help a bit..
