yerr if you pull the clutch in the kickstart doesnt engage so you definatly had it too tight

do the revs go up a bit when you lose power? like you are accelerating but then it stops speeding up but the revs still go up a bit..

if so your clutch is slipping costing you power

however i dont think the clutch is the issue, can you get hold of a compression tester?
you can buy them brand new for about £15 - £20
you screw it in the spark plug hole tight
connect the pipe leading to the gauge
press starter button until the gauge peaks and doesnt go any higher
you need to have the throttle wide open and have a warm engine to have a accurate reading

You over adjusted the Clutch... thats why the kickstart no longer worked, you can only kickstart it in neutral.

Sit on the bike while standing still pull the clutch lever in and put the bike in first,, rev the engine a little if you feel it wants to move forward a little you need to tighten the clutch cable a little.
If you adjust it right you can let the clutch lever come out a little bit with out the bike wanting to drive off / the clutch gripping, thats how you want the clutch to be, make sure however that you can pull the clutch in a little bit with out it starting to slip, you need some free play on the lever otherwise the clutch might slip if you go trough a corner etc.

You can/should try to adjust the cable with the adjuster at the clutchlever/handlebar wich should be there just like on the RS50.

WE adjusted it with the nut/bolt on the cable just above the engine.

Check your springs and plates for wear, you could probably do with a oil change anyway.

white rear cowls with black aprilia lions
side fairings orange red with the large aprilia lion decal (forward lion)
front cone black with 2 small red aprilia lions

id get the engine how you want it before spraying it, saves having to take so much care when removing fairings getting oily or scratched

    How do you loosen?

And even though the cable looks tight, the lever is so loose it wobbles all over the place.

    Cheers.

wobbles up and down or in and out? there should be a little bit of play up and down

to slacken the cable via the lever adjuster you loosen the locking nut and twist in the bolt clockwise and then lock the locking bolt and to tighten to the opposite
