Question How come Aprilia doesn't have any dealers in the US?

I have called every Aprilia dealer within a 250 mile range of Chicago and none of them are Aprilia dealers anymore. One was nice enough to refer me to AF1 Racing to order parts. How does Aprilia expect to sell and service bikes in the US without a network of dealers? I was a bit worried when purchasing my bike as every motorcycle dealer around me is refusing to work on them. The previous owner of my bike did tell me of two shops who he uses.

Thanks for the info. Are the service techs really knowledgeable and experienced? If I don't find someone over here who is an expert with Aprilia's I may use them when it comes time to rebuild the engine.

Reckless, I live in the Kansas City area but I'm shipping my engine to Allen Noland this winter.

Let me know how much it runs you, I may do the same when my time comes. When do you rebuild the engine?

Try living in a country roughly the size of yours and only ~7% of the population

Get to know your bike intiminately and be prepared to ship the engine if necessary.

I've been buying Castrol M-spec 10W60 at my local BMW dealer. Only use it in the engine side as it has friction modifiers not intended to be used in wet clutch systems. It runs $10-$12 /liter. I use something from my local moto shop for the trans.

Sad, some dealers are a joke.............

Try MotorcycleSuperstore (online) I've been buying my oil there for years, they have some good free shipping deals.
I started using Motul 10/60 racing oil from them recently, but they carry Motorex and have bought it from them cheaper than my local dealer for 3 years..

There was only one good thing to come out of my local Aprilia dealer dropping the Aprilia product line...

A buddy was nice enough to let me have the lighted sign for the work area in my shop!
