Bike packed, leaving 08.00 tomorrow. Londonsean, if you're camping at Jan en Bertha's you might stumble upon a silver/black Tuono and an all black RSV. Stop and say hello.

Nope, sorry Staying with one of SWMBO's mates on Friday night in Voorburg, and stopping in Elst on Sat night. We are only heading off Fri morning (work unfortunately) and back on the Sun (same fecking reason )
Maybe some other time, her ladyship and I are planning a track day at Brands. I am also planning on her riding a big V-Twin, apparently her GSXR 750 is 'boring' despite it being the bike she has lusted after for years! Fecking women!

Bigralphie, i first read that story right here and couldn't believe it. Assen has been on a saturday for 80 years. When i arrived there it definitely seemed as busy as ever and continued that way throughout the weekend.
The last few times i've been to Assen there have been between 100k and 110k visitors. Last weekend was 90,250. Ok, 10% down but still pretty packed. We couldn't see any empty seats in any stands visible to us.
Anyway, there is still a recession on throughout europe and to still get that sort of attendance is nothing to panic over for a year or 2 imo.

I don't think changing the race to Sunday is the solution, in fact quite the opposite. If it changes to Sunday i think you'll find 1,000's more abandoning the race because of the travelling arrangements. Most of our group need to be back at work Monday morning, travelling halfway back after the race and then doing the last 250-300miles on the sunday is the best, most comfortable way to travel. Riding 500miles in heavy traffic on a sunday afternoon starting at 17.00 is bonkers.

Will be a great shame if they change it, to ruin 80 years of tradition just to please the bank manager.
