Moving

Boys, in about 3 1/2 weeks I will be moving to upstate New York. I will be living between Saratoga Springs and Lake George, in a rental as our new house is being built. Our house should be done in the New Year and will be in the same general area.

Having only been up in that area a few times to camp, etc with the family and to look for housing in the past year or so, I am not really familiar with the biking and exploring to be had.

Any of you know about the Saratoga Springs area and the area biking?

I have found a few good pubs in the area so I am good in that respect.

I can only recommend where I have been, the ride from Bolton landing to dague has nice turns, goes through some beautiful scenics. It gets very rural north of the tourist trap. If you take the northway you can bypass LG or go around to the eastern side of the lake. I think that's 9n. Pretty area you are moving to. Sorry I have no experience with Saratoga except for seeing CS&N there decades ago.

My favorite aunt and uncle lived on the east shore of Schroon Lake. I spent much time up there. All I can say is get some maps and go explore. The ADKs are just excellent for riding, though lots of blind curves with stalled vehicles or deer lurking on the other side! Also great hiking, fishing, x-c skiing. You can spend many hours lost in the ADKs, or ride over into Vermont, or... Can you tell I like the place?
