    new rotors, new pads?

ok, I'm sure I'll get bent for this, but the question remains. I have a recent set of EBC pads, and now a NEW set of EBC lite rotors(just couldn't get that fucking warped rotor feel out of my head, after I binned it). The box says DISCARD!!!!
If you lived in assarmpitIowa and pads were 3-5 days away, would you
    1) apply some coarse sandpaper to theSTILLNEW pads and call it a day
    2) wait another week while my 2001 RSVR "Gialo" waits for yet another week to go for a ride...
Your vote counts, use it wisely.

If I was broke I would sand and use without question. If I could afford new I would install new and save the others for when you need to replace them again.

I'd sand the barely used pads, making sure to keep them square and removing any grit from the pads when I was done. I think the worst that could happen is you'd have to break out the rotor hone or the bead blaster to remove the transfer film from the rotors and break them in again with new pads if the rotors really did not like them.

    I voted before I read...I do that a lot...sorry, no politics here!

Yea, I'd just sand if they're lightly used. It shouldn't be an issue.

I have two Tuonos with a total of five front and six rear wheels with rotors.
I swap around to use up tires efficiently.
    Often.
I certainly do NOT keep a set of pads assigned to a set of rotors.
It takes about 1 mile to get full performance after a mixed swap.
    ECB HH in both bikes.

easiest way to sand them is put the sandpaper on something flat like a glass table and run the pad round in a figure of 8.

What he said.. I swapped wheels on the Tuono yesterday and didn't change pads.. no issues, and I used the brakes quite hard at times.
