does the fuel reg give it that much of a boost to be able to handle higher weight?

so now with 5.5g, i am hitting 9000 rpm with a strong acceleration but low top end compare to my old setup, if i want higher top end, would 5.1g do it or should i use heavier weight?

How can that be possible? When I was accelerating at 9000RPM it wasn't as fast as at 8200RPM. I took times with a GPS and it took a few seconds more to hit 40mph.

Yeah. If I use 7.2g rollers, my RPMs are like 8200-8500. I tried 6.5g, RPMs was higher than 9000 and it took a few seconds more to get to 40mph. So it was faster with the heavier ones. =)

So if I used 5.1gr rollers with Multivar (with OEM variator they were perfect), it'll probably rev over 10,000RPM, which is way over the power-band. Am I right?

technically yes since the peak power available is at the range of rpms that you have but its strange for 50cc that you have to use 7.2

Looks like we are on the same boat (basically same mod). with 7.2g, my scooter max at 8500rpm. but it tooks a long time to rev from 6K to 8.5k. i dont have exact number but i would say it took around 3 sec to do so. after it hit 8.5k and go over 50 km/h its fine, I didnt test the top end with that setup because i wont keep 7.2 no matter how high the top speed reach.
With 5.5g. i got strong acceleration, reach 60km/h faster then the stock variator (with 5.1g), it jumps to 8k rpm range amost immediately when twist the throttle and would max around 9K (I think I hit 9.5k going downhill). but it kinda max at 75 km/h. I am going to try 5.75 and 6g to see the difference but looks like I am on the right path to fine tune the Mutivar. give the 5.5g or 6g a try

I use 7.2g rollers on my 50cc w/variator 2000 and Stage 6 13/39 gear up kit and I don't have any issue. My acceleration is fine (not super quick) but I am at 56-58mph on the flats. I've hit 66mph going down steep hills.

I have come to the conclusion that no one can tell you what the best setup is. They can give you a starting point and then you must go from there. You need to buy several sets of rollers or sliders and several contrast springs. It is unfortunate and costly but "you have to pay to play" and if you want the most out of your scooter that's just what you have to do. It is more costly, IMO, to listen to other people with certain setup and expect the exact same results. The scooters are heavily influenced by even the smallest change. You're really going to waste a lot of your time expecting someone here to have the exact right answer as it pertains to your specific scooter.

Did you take times? How long did it take to reach 60km/h? In my case the scooter's acceleration sounds & feels a lot faster with lighter rollers... but in reality acceleration is worse. That's why I time/video/etc. my accelerations to know which setup was really the best.
