So I have been a member on here but mostly lurking, getting info or questions answered by existing posts. However, I had this experience last night and it has me concerned.
Went out to hop on the bike (2010 RSV) and the battery was stone dead. Weird… Jumped it and started up so went for a 20 mile ride, returned to the house, shut it off then restarted it. No problem. Rode another 30 miles to a buddy’s place where I hung out for about 2 hours. When I went to start the bike it cranked over without starting and an EFI warning showing on the dash. I messed with the tip over switch thinking it might be screwy and then it wouldn’t crank over at all. I disconnected the negative lead on the battery for a minute and tried again. The EFI warning was gone and the bike started up but would not idle below 4000 RPM. I rode it home and shut it off. Just to check, I started it again and it was idling normally…
What happened? Do I need to take it back to the dealer? Damn warranty just expired last month! Prior to this I have never had an issue so I am pretty confused.
Thoughts from the gurus?
