Family planning is very important thing, especially as a business owner. In addition to a Will, think about getting Power of Attorney, Medical Power of Attorney, and look into creating a trust for yourself. With all of that paper work in place, in the event something does happen, you know that your family and business are taken care of in the manner that you wish vs. the courts. It's a bit of work, not too expensive really, maybe $3,000 these days, and you will need to make updates from time-to-time, but you'll sleep easier.
OMG yes........ I could not agree more with anything on this forum right now.

I will post some updates soon, I have a hellish backlog of files on memory cards waiting for edit so when I do get around to next update it should be decent at least!
Nice Job!!!! Congrats. Keep after it!

Oh I am in this one for good, I have more fun flying than about anything else I do for "fun". I am already shopping for a faster plane to grow into with at least a thousand mile range, it is of course years away from being possible but I always shop for half a decade before making a big purchase....weird like that. Cessna 337's have my attention right now, especially for long flights over bad terrain! Nothing beats the extra safety of an extra engine. Being able to carry actual passengers would be pretty sweet too!

Come by my place. You can land in the field by my house.

My buddy has about 10 acres in Decatur and his neighbor has a little grass field runway. He has all kinds of planes. He us to bust them out when we would play paintball and ride dirtbikes. Nothing like playing paintball with a prop job, flying low over head, doing barrel rolls.

I thank Senator Inhofe for the e0. If you ever fly into Wiley Post give me a shout. There is the Runway Cafe there that might have some decent food. Some friends eat breakfast there Sunday mornings. I have not been in a while but it was O.K. food the last time I went.

That right there is pretty darn cool if you ask me. Congrats on getting your own airplane and good luck with your flight lessons! I too get bored with the routine of my life. I am always looking for new things to do/learn. Flying is on my bucket list. I hope this thread is as awesome as Volume I is/was.

Well the "free time" finally happened this morning to edit some pics from a couple of the memory cards, needed to clear them for the coming weeks and the time was right. We can start with some Aprilia action, including some newer bikes for a change. Some of these are pics taking while playing with a new lens, wide aperture lenses are fun for shooting pics.

Since it has been a while since many of these pics were taken please excuse the fact that there is a not a big back story for each set. We shall start this week with the Aprilias we all know, love or lust after.

The black TV4 was lowered quite a bit by it's owner, a drag racer, and honestly I think it looks evil, not something i normally think about when it comes to lowered sport bikes!

This is a full drag Suzuki Huyabusa....you know drag racer "stock" which is a simple way of saying that I have no REAL idea of what is inside the motor but I do know that it makes about 40bhp more than your average Busa with bolt on mods. Under the seat the real story is told, look at the complexity and yes, you are seeing the wiring to the battery bank correctly, the starter requires 24V to crank the damn motor...you know, all stock internals require that right? It was brought in for a very brief WFO throttle tune because the owner swears it is only used at WFO like all drag racers and for a "clutch tune" which required a specialists to sit on the dyno session and make constant adjustments to the clutch system which has basically built in launch control and is sumpremely adjustable in terms of lockup strength, speed, slip amount, how it deals with wheelspin and engine braking....$2500 for the clutch alone! Pretty amazing that clutch though, it is only a "normal" clutch up to 3,500rpm when dialed in for this bike, then it will literally rip the level right out of your hand and the clutch takes over power management, all about the 60 foot time according to both the owner and tuner who came to work on the clutch system....damn.

A set of random pics that need a home. A lot of this is playing with the new 24mm f/1.8 lens just to learn how to use it. It gathers an absolutely obscene amount of light allowing the use of much lower ISO range for cleaner and crisper pictures with stronger background blur...I got it for weather shooting but it seems to be pretty versatile all around.

Shocker...weather pictures, round one. This July has been so unusual for Texas, rain almost daily, temps only above 100 for a few hours a week...totally odd for us down here in the hellish lands. The Vespa was a wreck estimate....totalled, bent in a U shape (slight) when viewed from the top down! Turns out that hitting an immovable object at high speed can even kill a Vespa. I think this only the second one we have totalled out, compared to lastic scoots that is an insanely good track record!

More lighting pics, this last week has been pretty damn good to me when it comes to local severe weather! These pics were mostly taken in the last few evenings, learned why to avoid thunderstorms in the airplane yesterday too...scary, updraft tower equals going up 200 ft in about 1 second, imagine being pressed into your seat at 2G's upwards acceleration while pressing the stick as hard forward as possible to keep the nose basically level...followed by a landing being chased by an outflow boundary which resulted in a 10 knot head wind turning into a 15 know tailwind at the least opportune moment, much to learn, much fun learning!

Finally an odd project bike from a couple of weeks back, a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250cc. The owner was wanting the bike to loose "huge weight" and apparently did not realize the stock pipe was not a major factor in the bike's overall weight. I think the reason the scales did not show the whole story was I must have added a little too much fuel for the "after" weight test, same on the gauge but I really thing it had to have lost at lease 5lbs. Tail tidy, pipe, jetting and dyno tuning, power went up roughly 15% up top which was a much better result than I had expected really.

These little motors actually run pretty good, it is a shame that the chassis is not really any lighter. If tranplanted into a GP frame like a Honda RS125 I am guessing ready to ride weight would be below 210lbs with fuel...the only problem left with the bike is that there is a lot of Kawasaki left in the bike now!

I am in OKC tonight, just got in to hotel. Helping out on a business thing, surely a great story to come, onto Tulsa tomorrow, Dallas for rest and/or stopover at a friends place, then back on Friday. 40% chance of severe storms tomorrow, well storms at least, previous time in Oklahoma has taught me most tend to be at least severe by south Texas standards. Drove like 550 miles straight through almost, to get here. Left with truck (F350) and 27' ftrailer at 5:15pm and made the hotel by 12:40. Relaxing and in bed. Tomorrow will be interesting for sure.
