EJD... he said the battery was fully charged and he even checked to make sure it was... so it has nothing to do with that.

That has nothing to do with what you said mate...
Anyway, easiest thing to do is swap the starter engine out since hese got 2, than he can take the starter engine he took out apart and clean the stator/brushes and clean and lube the starter gears, personaly i would just do that with both engines to be perfectly sure both starter engines are fine and fit the one thats in the best state or swap out parts to make one with the good parts of both combined.
Due to the position of the starter engine on these bikes there sensative to corosion and dirt.
Note that the older starter engines are thicker and stronger than the newer more thinner ones.
hes already swapped them round hasnt he?
like patrick said it would be a good idea to clean both starter motors up and lube them up, maybe replace the bushes if you really want to but may aswel just clean them up and apply lube
id get the other parts sorted out and set up and see what happens then, you got the shitty sha carb on atm havnt you? and you said your other bike did this until you fitted the polini flatside

yeah i did swap the starters over which never let me down on the blue one, but still didnt start it :/ but i swapped them back over as it was super noisy (rattly and rough) compared to the one that was already on the bike :P
i think the battery might be screwed from the crash as its an acid filled one, not a sealed one.
i might do, if i can be asked :P
and yeah i have :/ and again yeah my old one done this until the carb was changed to the polini one :P which will be done soon
what do you think off mine?comments please!!
Can't understand why the carb is making any difference. If it bumps off easily then it should start fine if the starter is spinning the engine fast enough. Are you sure the engines turning over when the starter is? It would be worth removing the flywheel cover and watching it when the starters working.

Its Not What You Ride Its How You Ride It
yes it is turning the engine over....
and like i said i reckon the battery is screwed from the crash because its a filled acid battery...
what do you think off mine?comments please!!
was the battery in the new one tosh anyway?
the battery probs has the enough life to turn startor so it engages with the flywheel just probly not fast enough for the engine to start
Engine Always Screaming!
Its Not What You Ride Its How You Ride It
yeah! completely flat and looked like shit too, terminals where bent and really rusty, bearly light up the neutral light and wouldnt charge...
what do you think off mine?comments please!!
You say: "checked the battery and its fully charged" in your first post than... if you get 12 volts out of it and its fully charged the battery should be fine.
right so i tried to bump start it today and it just sounded like it wanted to but then doesnt![]()
any ideas? also its bumping in first if that means anything... but im gunna try again soon :P
what do you think off mine?comments please!!
Maybe your cdi is dodgy and is taking all the power when your turn the key on.
Sounds like its something electrical or the starter.
Another idea:
Is your carb pulling through fuel when you use the starter switch?
I have read about someone having an issue like that but it bumped perfectly time.

cdi doesnt run off the battery lol it runs off the stator plate which when the engine turns it will generate power (so when he bump starts it it should still generate a spark with a totally flat battery
