    Mods Complete

Just completed a number of updates: Added showa forks, rotors, calipers, brembo clutch master and brembo brake master all taken from my 2004 mille along with custom ss braided lines, MPL clutch slave, fork sliders & driven knock off grips. Wiring mod done per bossbob. Other than a new rear shock I can't think of much else to be done.

Looks good, Shannon - you've done a heck of alot of work.
Now with all that trick stuff, I'll be ashamed to ride my box
stocker next to yours. What kind of mirrors/turn signals are
    those, Gixxer?

Gixxer, installed by the previous owner. You can't see anything out of these either.

    Nice work Shannon,
Did you install the bar ends? If so how do you also have the internal weights?
If you have installed them, how much difference has it made on vibration. I ask as I have HAVS (hand, arm, vibration syndrome and no I am not making that up) it is a condition from years of vibration from tools and motorcycles that cause numbness and can be a permanent condition. I have it under control, and the Futura is a lot better than previous bikes, however every little bit helps.

I guess I need to get busy with the mods to try and keep up.

Hey Terry, the throttlemeister was installed by the previous owner. That being said I can't give you a comparison but the current set up seems very stable to me. However, I'm not nearly as sensitive to the bars as you. Tomorrow if I have time I'll see how difficult they are to get off and see what's inside the bars. Maybe I can get a picture.

    Thanks Shannon,
If it is difficult don't worry about it. To me the stock Futura is smoother than I expected, but like I said more is better in this case.

Here ya go Terry. After removing the throttlemeister you are left with a threaded insert for the handlebar. However, the handlebar has nothing inside. Maybe due to the weight of the 2 parts they act as anti vibration and no internals are needed.

    Try this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Suzuki-Mirror-.../dp/B005AITM9C

Can't confirm the accuracy of the Amazon ad, but according to it, integrated mirror/turn signal units are available for the following GSXR models:

    '06-'10 GSXR 600
    '06-'10 GSXR 750
    '05-'08 GSXR 1000

Here's a link on the gixxer site for retrofitting integrated mirror/turn signals to an earlier model gixxer (scroll down to read). It's unlikely the Futura installation would be the same, but the gixxer post at least gives you a general idea as to what's involved. The Futura wiring is already in place so the electrical connection should be easy, but the base plate and mirror attachment might require some additional creativity. I've seen this mod on other Futuras so maybe someone here has already done it.

I have no idea what model as one of the previous owners installed them. I would say install is fairly straight forward with the exception of having to splice the electrical connections.

Thanks again Shannon for the info,

    3views,
Yes they are fairly straight forward with a few small caveats
1 the fairing support needs the holes slotted slightly as the bolt pattern is not an exact match.
2 if you do not make angled shims they tend to look a little droopy as the angle of the mirrors are not the same as stock.
3 I do not know about Shannons but the base plate on mine did not cover the center hole for the turn signal wiring completely.
4 you will need to run an resister in series with them or find a lower wattage amber lamp as the stock lamp is a higher wattage than the stock turn signals and it will drive you flasher relay nuts.

All that said they work better than the stock ones in my opinion, and look better. You can find a thousand brands of the same mirror on Ebay and they are cheap. Just beware as the quality is not fantastic.

I will be looking at the CBR1000 mirrors as they are similar but look to have a better angle for matching up to the fairing.

    Now you did it Shannon,
You had to bring up the mods and an Ohlins rear shock became available on Ebay.
After just finishing with the Ohlins fork valves I just had to get the shock, and they accepted my offer.

Let me know how the install on that shock goes. I assume you will be following The Fixer's install:
