    PC V Quickshift 07 Factory?

I was looking on the dynojet site and searching the forums and I couldn't tell whether a quickshifter is an option with the PC V for my '07 RSV. Does anyone know if it is, and what the part is? I couldn't find it on the AF1 site either. Otherwise I guess I'll bite the bullet at get the Bazzaz at some point.

This is for track-only use, though I 'm running standard shift with Motobits rearsets, not GP.

My o4 RSVR ate it's powercommander III just before the start of the season this year. After, what I would call, poor customer service from the folks at dynojet I decided to go with the Bazzaz system.

I won't say that the whole thing was painless, the original system was developed on an 07 and the crank position sensor was different in 2004, but I will say that the customer service from Bazzaz was outstanding. They fixed the issue and had the wire harness back to me in a matter of days, made a follow up call to make sure it was right and in general took great care of me to get my season off the ground.

I'm certain that the PCV will accept a QS in your application, but if you don't already have the PCV I would encourage you to strongly consider the Bazzaz unit.

    Best of luck!

The PC5 uses a std QS sensor, you can use any type QS on/off momentary switch sensor you like.
The old PC3 QS has a special connector but the PC5 doesn't.
I've been using the PC5 or our track bikes without issues for a couple years, I already had QS sensors form the PC3 and I just cut the connector off the end of the wire and connected to the PC5. See drawing bellow.

OK, that makes sense. I've looked over a bunch of posts, and now I'm confused about what is the correct sensor for my setup with the Motobits rearsets and the stock shifter. Should I get a push or a pull, and what's the best mount location?

So, in the Bazzaz description on AF1's site, it says "for standard shift version, aftermarket rearsets must be fitted." In this because it's a push sensor that's included? With the Motobits rearsets with standard shift, can I make it work?
Also, how different is it to do a dyno tune with a Bazzaz vs. a PC5? Is it similar enough that I will have a problem getting a tuner that knows how to program it? It seems like everyone and their dog would be familiar with a PC5.

Sorry for the newb questions, I've never done any tuning or QS installs before.

It is a bit confusing when you try to figure out if you need push or pull.
For me it helps to ignore what they recommend and just visualize what your linkage is doing.

Or in the case of a std shift pedal, you will need to mount a different type of sensor, like the DJ linear sensor.
See photos bellow of how I mount them, one end of the linear sensor is mounted to the pedal and the other to a stationary point like one of the engine cover bolts.

In this case with a std shift pedal and std 1-down 5-up pattern, you can see that when you move the pedal up for an upshift, the sensor linkage would be a "push" type.

Awesome, thanks much Amauri, that explains a lot. That is exactly what I was thinking, a linear push. It made sense to me, but things I read were saying a pull for standard shift and I couldn't quite figure it out. Do people with the pull sensor mount it along the bottom similar to how a connecting rod attaches when using a GP shift rearset?

Seems like you could also mount the pull sensor 90deg clockwise from where you have it too, connected to that upper bolt on the case. But where you have it looks nice and clean. I assume you fabbed that little bracket.

Yes, you can position the linear sensor in any position or rotation as long as it triggers in the right direction.

I do have a used pull sensor if you want to experiement without spending full pop.
It is a DJ linear type as in the photo but a pull instead of push.

Oops, that was a typo, I meant *push* sensor 90deg. Tonight I'm going fiddle with my rearset setup and consider the options. Thanks for the offer, that might be handy.

I went ahead and ordered a Bazzaz TC QS with the inline push sensor. After thinking about it some more it seems like a worthwhile investment. Thanks for help in clarifying the details.

Cool, That's what I'm looking in to right now for my 05 Factory. Let us know how it all goes together. I went thru the installation instructions on line and it does not look too bad.
Amauri; Would it be OK just to use the Autotune, or go for a custom map? Thanks

Well, the Bazzaz is apparently back-ordered nationally at the moment, so I think I am back to ordering a PC V.
