besides the pod style air filters what would you use

Upgrading the carb and the old pod filter wont work so where should I go for my next air filter , I am not going to even try and get a stock airbox parts are to hard to get in the USA so looking for other option have looked at other types of pod filters that look like they may be better.Name: malossi_e13.gif

If you were going to use one, make sure you get a dual density foam filter they are better.

    Twin air filters are good

I dont know, i know K&N usualy doesnt suplie filters with there airboxes, and there are Go-Kart airboxes that are just a airbox with nothing in it, just ment to reduce the intake noise from an open carb.

Its better to get an Airbox with a Filter already in it, unless the filter and podfilter where ment/designed to go together.

Yes you can still order the OEM airbox. It's around $100 though. I asked 1-2 months ago at the local Aprilia dealer and I'm in the USA also.

In the summer K&N, oiled every week plus i don't use it in the rain. Winter or when i go greenlaning, back to drilled out airbox.

Airbox drilled is a verry bad idea... you need to mod it with an extra intake tube, if you just drill holes you create vortexes in the airbox wich can in the worst case suck air away from the carb stalling the airflow and engine.
For Carbs up to 21mm its not needed, but it makes a nice deep (not to loud) sound even with a stock carb.
