Eastbound & Down - Going to Texas

Had to take some time off work so I decided to load up the Ape and go visit my buddy in Katy (outside Houston). To get there I basically hop Interstate 10 and head straight there (1,500+ miles each way) via AF-1 of course. My Toyota gets exceptionally crappy mileage, so to make the best of it, I put my stock wheels back on, and took off the shell. I'll be picking up a very clean RZ350 while I'm there in need of a new top-end. I helped a friend buy the bike 25+ years ago and now she's coming back home. More pics as the journey progresses.

So I made it to Katy in 2 days. Went by AF-1, but it was nearly 7pm. Will post pic later. Refueled there for $3.05 a gallon.

Staying at my buddy's in Katy. Going riding tomorrow. He's got an R1 and I've got my Ape. Went to his buddys house who has like 100+ obscure bikes from Ariel to Zundapp and everything in between. I mean weird stuff. Load up the RZ tomorrow.

Hey thanks Micah, I really wanted to get to AF1 during office hours, but couldn't make it. I half felt like unloading my bike in front of your shop and hitting the hill country for a few hours, but that would've delayed my arrival in L.A. by a day. Saw a ton of bikes on 46 and bought another 24 gallons of your $3.05 Walmart gas.
