Tryed them all felt safest on the Conti Trail Attacks, just worn out a Battle wing or axe or what ever you call them never again bloody dangerous in the wet and we get plenty of rain over here.

I've just fitted the Anakees 2 front and rear. I can't believe now how bad the Tourances must have been. I actually get grip now!!
The Michies get my vote.

cheers guys
great info as always,,,,, guess thats gona be ANAKEES 2s without dout
I would have got more than that Blu, if I hadn't got worried about your Welsh climate and stuck a new pair on a bit premature before I came down for the camping trip a year ago. By the looks of it at the mo down your way, I would have to borrow a set of 4x4 General Grabbers from our works truck to stand any chance of dispersing the wet stuff .![]()
Lol your not wrong there
BLU
the dealer i work for stocks maxxis tyres and i will be getting a set of maxxis detour tyres to try out - pitty my tourances have so much life left in them
i have fitted maxxis diamonds to all my other bikes and i think they are fantastic, i hope they have got it just as right for these detour tyres
Conti Road Attacks and Trail Attacks have great grip and feel, but I ran through both kinds in less than 2500 miles. Pirelli Syncs gripped ok but didn't give the same confidence or feedback. They lasted about 3500 miles. Anakee 2s are grippier than the Syncs, give more feel and appear to be wearing much better, 2k miles so far.
I just put Pilot Road 2s on my BMW. Really nice. I will put them on the Capo when the Anakees quit. I don't offroad the Capo anymore.

Interesting Bob: my wife's Capo has Trail Attacks and they've done 7000km and are barely worn; 3000km of that was two-up with luggage on a 10-day trip n high-summer, the rest has been commuting. They're not at all good in mud, so-so on gravel but do well on asphalt. Good enough to bottom the forks before locking up during a Saab-induced panic-attack, anyway!
I wonder if we get a different compound to you guys?
I'd like to die on Mars. Just not on impact.
The appropriate number of cylinders for any motorcycle is two.
I have a set of Conti Road Attack 2's with less than 500 miles on them that are free to whomever picks them up. The RA1 got great reviews, the RA2 are in my opinion to thin on sidewall to support 275# Matt and all his gear.
Huge difference in sidewall flexibility. I stripped them off right away and went with Battle Wings and I'm quite happy with them.
ps: I need to lose a stone or two....
from Michelin about the Anakee 2:
"Radial or bias to fit most adventure touring bikes
Excellent for bikes like the BMW GS, Suzuki V-Strom and Triumph Tiger
Also great for older models that accept bias tires.
Compared with Bridgestone Trail Wing and Metzeler Tourance EXP."
